1. Introduction of the control

1.1 Introduction of the control

Notes:

Once you are on the sizing screen, you will see a drop-down control under each condition label. Cv is selected here

by default as it is the most used option.

However, users can choose here to calculate for any of the following parameters: Cv, Flow Rate, P1, or P2.

Before we proceed to an example, let us see a brief overview for each of these options.

1.2 Brief overview

Notes:

The first option is Calculating Cv. The required inputs for this option include: Fluid Media (Liquid or Gas), Inlet

Temperature (T), Upstream Pressure (P1), Downstream Pressure (P2) and Flow Rate (Q).

The second option is Calculating Flow. The required inputs for this option include: Fluid Media (Liquid or Gas), Inlet

Temperature (T), Upstream Pressure (P1), Downstream Pressure (P2) and Capacity (CV)

The third option is Calculating P1. The required inputs for this option include: Fluid Media (Liquid or Gas), Inlet

Temperature (T), Downstream Pressure (P2), Flow Rate (Q) and Capacity (CV)

The fourth and final option is Calculating P2. The required inputs for this option include: Fluid Media (Liquid or Gas),

Inlet Temperature (T), Upstream Pressure (P1), Flow Rate (Q) and Capacity (CV)

Each of these options will be described by providing examples in the following sections of this training.

1.3 Calculating Capacity (Cv)

1.14 New Required Cv

Notes:

We will use this Cv (3.5 approx.) as input capacity for other examples in this training.

1.15 Calculating Flow (Q)

Notes:

This section provides an example of Calculating Flow Rate (Q).

1.16 Click the dropdown control

Notes:

We have selected Water as the fluid for this training.

1.17 Calculating Flow Rate

Notes:

Select Flow from the Cv drop-down.

Since the fluid selected is in a Liquid state, the Liquid Flow Rate will be calculated in this example.

The text field next to the Liquid Flow Rate label, will gray out automatically, indicating that it is the required output.
