HEY NOW YOU ARE AN ALL-STAR: The Pacific Coast League announced that Tacoma Rainiers OF Stefen Romero  and RHP BParker  have been elected to represent the PCL in the Sonic Automotive 2016 Triple-A All-Star Game. Romero was elected to start inoutfield, while Parker was elected as a relief pitcher. This marks the 5th consecutive season that multiple Rainiers players have been calledto represent the PCL in the Triple-A All-Star Game. Infielders Jesus Montero and Ketel Marte, along with right-handed pitcher Forrest Snearned the honors in 2015. The contest will be held at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, N.C. on Wednesday, July 13 at 7:00 p.m. ET and witelevised on MLB Network.

REHAB ASSIGNMENT:

•  ON THE MEND – C Jesus Sucre had surgery to repair damage in his right ankle on Jan. 26, 2016 in Seattle after fracturing his right fi

during winter ball in Venezuela on Jan. 17…he spent most of last season with Seattle, hitting .157 (20x127) with 9 runs, 6 doubles, 1 hrun and 7 RBI in 50 games. In six games with AAA Tacoma, he hit .261 (6x23) with 3 runs and 2 RBI.

Woodworth comes to

Mariners organization from his alma mater Florida Gulf Coast University, where he served as the team's pitching coach for the past seasons. He played for the Eagles from 2007-10, where he compiled a 25-9 career record, making him the school's all time wins leader. Insenior season, he went 9-2 as part of a pitching staff that included 2010 first round pick and four time MLB All Star for the Chicago White Chris Sale. After the 2010 season, Woodworth signed as a free agent with the Tampa Bay Rays, and pitched for the GCL Rays in 2010 bereturning to Florida Gulf Coast as a volunteer assistant coach from August 2011 until February 2012. With the GCL Rays, he posted a 2ERA in 26 innings pitched over 17 appearances. Opponents hit just .204 against him while he also struck out 26 hitters. GOLDEN SPIKES: USA Baseball announced that Mercer's Kyle Lewis has won the 2016 Golden Spikes Award sponsored by Major LeaBaseball and presented in partnership with the Rod Dedeaux Foundation. The 39th annual award was presented live on ESPN's flagsprogram, SportsCenter, by George Grande, who anchored the first-ever SportsCenter telecast on September 7, 1979. Lewis selected 11th overall by the Seattle Mariners. Lewis is the first Golden Spikes Award winner out of Mercer University and the South

The outfielder batted .395 and belted 20 home runs on his way to being named to six All-Ameteams this season. Seattle Mariners minor league OF Tyler O’Neill (Canada) and RHP Dylan Unsworth (South Africa) have been selected to represent the Wteam in the 18th annual SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game to be played on Sunday, July 10th at Petco Park in San Diego, as part of Allweekend.

The Mariners have had 37 selections (including O’Neill and Unsworth) to the Futures Game since its first began in 1999. Eight players oncurrent 25-man roster (+DL) played in the Futures Game in the past: Robinson Canó (2003-04), Nelson Cruz  (2005), Edwin Diaz (2Felix Hernandez  (2004), Chris Iannetta (2005), Ketel Marte (2015), James Paxton (2011) and Taijuan Walker  (2012-13).
