Its Never Too Early To Start Gaining Experience Freshman Year: Volunteer with On-Campus Events, the Athletic Department, etc. Sophomore-Senior Year: Internships, On-Campus Marketing, Volunteer in the Athletic Department, Local Festivals (Summerfest, State Fair), etc. II. Jump At Any Opportunity Do this even if youre unsure whether its something you are interested in; it may help you develop a better understanding of what you do/dont want to do III. Its All About Who You Work For Not Which Company You Work For Develop a GREAT mentor-mentee relationship; someone who is invested in your career Working for companies like Nike/Abercrombie/Gap may seem great (especially to friends/family) but dont hang your hat on opportunities with those types of companies

Show respect for EVERYONE Interns, gatekeepers, colleagues, bosses, etc. IV. Dont be afraid to get your hands dirty The best leaders are the ones who are willing to do anything an intern/assistant would be asked to do IV. Humility is underrated V. Be Attentive Even when you dont have to VI. Offer to do something extra regularly Walk around your workplace and ask people if they need help. Also consider sending relevant articles to others VII. Live in the Moment Be acutely aware of where you are and what you are doing
