9. If yes, how?9. If yes, how? Becoming aware of issues in librarianship in general It opened up ways of thinking about expanding resources.

Although much of what was discussed were book/journal type issues, my library area is video, music and program CD's, much of which is also expanding digitally. It gave me ideas on how to educate our clients on additional services online.

Short sections might be useful in my class on Digital Media in English Studies.

To make (others) aware about the future prospects of this technology

I am interested in learning more about the development of cyber-infrastructure to support distributed computing in the sciences that will support projects such as the Biomedical Informatics Research Network and projects being developed in collaboration with CERN.

I would like to be able to share small segments with colleagues to stimulate some further discussion

discussed? How to authentic published information on webpages.. we need to

have anodal body or cyber petrol to look into the matter How will libraries handle the maintenance of the growing number of

online-only academic journals? Myths of print: e.g., that it is permanent, that we preserve (or even try

to preserve) the entire print record, that the transmission of print materials is self-evident. Schemes for long-term preservation of digital materials.

Preservation issues/ funding limitations The presentation did not address users’ view of the digital materials,

Lessons Learned: MarketingLessons Learned: Marketing

Earlier publicity might help but most registrations 2 weeks prior to broadcast

Marketing did not reach as many non-ADEC audiences as desired

Pricing structure for paid viewing seemed fine

Recommendations: MarketingRecommendations: Marketing

More potential to market to non-ADEC institutions but targeted marketing strategy needed

Good “after-event” potential for “pay per view” and sales of tapes and DVD of broadcast

Need to find ways to draw more attention to “additional resources” webpage or not include it
