Don passedaway Thursday,December 25,2014 at BorgessMedical Centerin Kalamazoo. He wasborn February 20, 1957 in

Lansing. Don served his country in the USNavy during the Vietnam Era. He was aham radio operator and mechanic whoowned and operated After Hours Garagefor about five years. Don then began sell-ing computers with a friend of his andlater worked at Reinhart Foods where heworked as a salesman and started work-ing with computers. He had also workedfor Wausau Financial installing computersoftware and hardware. He was a mem-ber of the NRA and enjoyed cooking, pol-itics, riding motorcycles, playing Clash ofClans and most of all spending time withhis family, especially his grandchildren.Don was a very funny and witty man. OnApril 29, 2012 in Otsego he married DanniCarruthers who survives. Also survivingare his children, Donald J. Oakes Jr., Nic-hole Leigh (Ben) Kim, Kristi Marie (Mark)Berger and Daniel Eli Oakes; 10 grand-children, his step-children, Joshua (Sh-eryl) Coburn, Jessi Coburn, Randi (Don)Haskins and Kaitlyn Chapman; 4 step-grandchildren, his father, Robert Oakes;several siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces andnephews. He was preceded in death byhis mother Virginia. A Funeral Service washeld Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at

Winkel Funeral Home, OtsegoCelebrant Bill Rose officiated. MilitaryHonors were given by VFW Post #3030.Cremation followed. Contributions inmemory of Don may be made to the char-ity of your choice.

William M. “Bill” DREGERAGE 90 – OTSEGO, MI

Bill passed away Friday, Decem-ber 26, 2014 at Bronson Hospi-tal in Kalamazoo. He was bornDecember 19, 1924 in Ionia theson of Michael and Anna(Hacker) Dreger. Bill served his country inthe US Army during World War II in theSouth Pacific. He was a lineman for Con-sumers Energy until his retirement in1984. On September 1, 1947 in Otsegohe married Betty Hammon who precededhim in death in 2004. Bill was an avidgolfer who enjoyed woodworking, fishing,playing softball, hunting and playingcards especially pinochle. Surviving arehis daughters, Carla (Ray) Cook ofPortage and Michaelle (Robert) Redfordof Martin; his companion and best friend,Betty Mahieu and her children, DavidMahieu, Sharalyn Downing and KathleenMeyers; 4 grandchildren, Mick (Angie)Enders, Eric (Lindsey) Enders, Jessica(Kyle Magnani) Redford and Aaron Red-ford and 5 great-grandchildren, Ava,Anson, Lauren, Jezane and William. Hewas preceded in death by his wife, Bettyand his 8 siblings. Cremation has takenplace. A Memorial Service was held Mon-day, December 29, 2014 at the First Con-gregational Church of Otsego with PastorDavid Youngs officiating. Military Honorswere given by VFW Post #3030. Burial willtake place at Mountain Home Cemeteryin Otsego at a later date. Contributions inmemory of Bill may be made to the Ot-sego VFW Post #3030, First Congrega-tional Church of Otsego or to the charityof your choice.
