We present a simple tutorial on how to make an elegant Christmas decoration. Colored wire balls are used as the base. You can also use balls made of natural materials. Beads and seed beads of various sizes, shapes, surface finishes and color shades will stand out on them nicely. You can also choose a different color scheme. The wide range of beads and seed beads from the PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Beads brand will enable you to harmonise your decorations with the Christmas atmosphere in your home.

PRECIOSA ORNELA wishes you a pleasant Christmas.

Materials and Tools:

a mixture of red shapes ranging in size from 5 mm to 12 mm (transparent and opaque shades; round, flat, varied shapes; pressed, cut, lamp beads)

a wire ball - a semi-product; a 0.20 - 0.30 mm nylon line; scissors

Difficulty:

Procedure:

A ball decorated with beadsCut off about 1.50 m of the nylon line (about an arm span). Tie one end of the line to the wire on the ball using two knots (fig. no. 1). The protruding short end should be about 15 cm long. String a bead onto the long line (fig. no. 2). Move it closer to the initial knot (fig. no. 3). Thread the line through it one more time in the same direction so that the bead is now secured with a loop. You can move it carefully. Place it in a gap between the wires (fig. no. 4 and 5). String another bead, thread the line through it again and place it in a gap (fig. no. 6 and 7). Twist one line around a nearby wire and create a similar loop like the one around the bead (fig. no. 7 and 8). Repeat. String and secure one bead 2x on the line and twist it around the wire. You can twist the line around the ball in various directions, cross the line and so on. When ending, it is necessary to approach the initial protruding line (fig. no. 9). String a bead and secure it. Also thread the initial line through it in the opposite direction. Tie off the ends of the lines with two knots and pull both ends into the bead. Try to carefully hide the knots too. Cut off the ends.

The chainYou need about 6 m of line for the chain. You can also use a shorter line and then tie it onto another line for ease of handling. Leave about 15 cm free at the end. Gradually string the beads; this time thread the line through them twice (fig. no. 1). Attach them to the wire ball by twisting the line onto the wire at two opposite points on the ball (fig. no. 3). Attach about 3 to 5 beads in the gaps between the balls (fig. no. 4). Use 7 balls for a single chain (fig. no. 5).

Connecting the lines - string a bead on one end, proceed in the same way at the other end, but string it in the opposite direction. Tie off the ends with two knots, pull them into the bead and cut off the line.
