Noise and Training Advisory for January 21-27, 2013.

From 00:30 am to 11:30 p.m., on Jan. 21-27, scheduled training has the potential for significant noise.

January 26 Racquetball tournament to be at Long Fitness Center An intermediate league

and an advanced league will be offered. Each league will be divided into two age groups:

18 to 39 years, and 40 and up.

Attendees must be 18 years or older to participate in the tournament. The cost is $10 for every

Department of Defense cardholder, but it is free for all active-duty Soldiers.

Participants can register at King Field House. For more information, call 785-239-2813

28 January is the last day to reserve childcare for the Military Spouse 101 class. This class takes

place on 13-14 February 9-3pm at the ASC building 7264. For more information please see the

returns beginning today, but cannot efile returns until the IRS will accept them on January

their Guest Speaker will be Sandy Risberg, and she will enlighten and inform everyone, regarding educating military children and educating

February 14th & 15th Riley’s Conference Center will host the Sweetheart Dinner and Dance from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 14 and 15. Bring your

sweetheart and celebrate Valentine’s Day with a night of gourmet food, good music and dancing. Each evening will include a cocktail hour

Fort Riley Custer Hill Golf Course Update - Golf Course Driving Range open 24/7: The Custer Hill Golf Course Driving Range is open

24/7. After hours, an automatic ball dispenser, located on the back side of the club house, is available. The machine takes tokens or keys,

which may be purchased during Pro Shop hours. The machine also takes $1 bills. One bucket of balls costs $2. For more information, call

Calling all professional photographers who are Military Spouses: Send us your favorite photos of a military child (or several military kids)

and we may choose one of your shots to be the cover photo for our magazine's April "Month of the Military Child" issue. E-mail

chosen for our cover.) We'll include information showcasing you and your photography business in that issue.

Do you have the Best BRO Love Story?

Is your love story the stuff fairytales are made of? Tell us about it! Send us a photo of you with you rsignificant other, information about

when and where you met and two or three sentences about what makes your love story the best in the 1st Infantry Division. The photos

will be posted to the Division Facebook page and fans will be asked to "like" their favorites. The photo with the most "likes" on Feb. 1

will be declared the winner. The winning couple will be featured in an article that will appear in the Feb. 15 edition of Fort Riley's Post

Newspaper. Please email your photo and information to [email protected] no later than Jan. 27. The Best BRO Love Story

contest is open to current and former 1st Infantry Division Soldiers and their significant others.

IACH Updates: All eligible beneficiaries can receive the influenza vaccine in their Medical Homes. The influenza vaccine will be offered to

all patients during their regularly scheduled appointments. Beneficiaries also may come on a walk-in basis during open immunization

clinic hours, from 4 to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday. Additionally, Custer Hill Health Clinic and IACH Primary Care clinics will have

vaccination hours from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. Farrelly Health Clinic will accept appointments for flu

vaccinations – just call 785-239-3627, and they will accept walk-ins for flu vaccinations from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursdays.

Beneficiaries also may receive the influenza vaccine from various Tricare-participating pharmacies in Junction City and Manhattan.

Dillon’s in Junction City and Manhattan have both the mist and the injections available for people and children, ages 4 years and older. No

appointments are required at Dillon’s. Beneficiaries also may receive the influenza vaccine for ages six months and older at K-Stat, 785-

565-0016, 930 Hayes Drive, Manhattan; Riley County Health Department, 785-776-4779, 2030 Tecumseh Road, Manhattan; and Konza

OTC SELF CARE MEDICATIONS AT IACH: The sniffle and sneezing season is upon us! Did you know you don't have to head to the

supermarket to get your over-the-counter relief? Take the Self Care Class and earn a card. TRICARE beneficiaries can simply present the

self care card at Irvin Army Community Hospital pharmacies to get over-the-counter cold and flu remedies, pain relievers and basic care

Kansas State Beach Museum - is offering a $10.00 membership for military families. The Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art at Kansas

State University was opened in the fall of 1996. The Beach Museum of Art promotes the art of Kansas and the region, hosts special

exhibitions, and provides educational programming for K-12 students, University students, and the general public. The Beach Museum of

Art: Engaging the Senses, Cultivating Knowledge. Special Collections and Exhibits - The Beach Museum of Art collects art of Kansas and

the region. Special collection include over 1,000 works by Kansas artist John Steuart Curry, works by Regionalist painters, an extensive

Army Emergency Relief: Spouse Education Assistance Program: The 2013-2014 application for the Spouse Education Assistance Program is

NMFA MILITARY SPOUSE SCHOLARSHIP: The National Military Family Association is now accepting applications for its annual Joanne

Holbrook Patton Military Spouse Scholarship Program. The Association recognizes the unique challenges today's military spouse’s face

pursuing additional training or education. Scholarships of up to $1,000 are awarded to help ease the financial obstacles that accompany

pursuing a higher education. Scholarships are awarded in eight categories: High School GED or English as a Second Language classes,

Degree Seeking Candidates (Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate), Licensing Fee Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math Degree (to

include certain, healthcare fields), Mental Health Career Fields, Spouses of Fallen Service Members, Spouses of Wounded Service Members,

Vocational or Technical Certification. Applications will only be accepted online

Save the Date: Symphony in the Flint Hills is coming to Fort Riley on June 15 th: Tickets will go on sale March 23rd at 10am. If you are

wanting to attend this big event they are urging everyone to be ready at 10am to purchase tickets as they will sell out very quickly. You can

purchase tickets online at: www.symphonyintheflinthills.org or call the box office at 816-471-0400. Tickets for this year's Symphony in

the Flint Hills will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013. General admission tickets are $75 for adults and $43 for children

UFM Community Learning Center, Manhattan, has scholarships available for qualifying adult and youth dependents of the military.

*Scholarships can be used toward UFM classes and covers 50 percent of the class fee. A variety of classes for all ages are offered every
