Development Of New Hardness Conversion Tables For ASTM E140

• API CSOEM approved formation of new Task Group - Haeberle Chair • API has approved funding for testing

• PH Ni alloys, select martensitic SS, duplex SS and super duplex SS

• ASTM E28.06 approved formation of new Task Group - Haeberle Chair

• ASTM Task Group to work on this issue and the adoption of test data developed through the API test program

• ASTM members have volunteered to participate

• Development of a formal round robin test procedure is ongoing

Temperature De-Rated Mechanical Properties For HPHT• API CSOEM approved formation of new Task Group – Bill Bailey Chair • $150K approved for initial tests to be used to define HPHT test program

• Planning:• First, test the most frequently used HPHT material (Alloy 718 - 120K)• Test all mechanical properties & orientations, but no environmental

tests• Minimize testing required for other alloys in the future• Eliminate test variables that can introduce data scatter• Review test plan for statistical validity• No tubing for initial testing• Several mills and distributors willing to donate Alloy 718 for testing• Pre-machining - assure same radial location• Results from a survey sent to potential labs is being evaluating• Will request select test labs to provide firm quotes

Grade 660D Elevated Temperature Tensile Testing

• Grade 660 derating values were removed from App G in API 6A Errata 6

• API CSOEM approved formation of new Task Group and approved funding - Haeberle Chair

• Elevated temperature tensile testing of Grade 660D is full scope

• Performing aging study to see if aging explains data trend in App G

• Will utilize findings from HPHT Task Group to select lab(s) and define test procedure

• After aging study, will perform the elevated temperature testing required
