Building Information Ecosystem

Architect plans a building and creates a building information model (BIM)

Architect writes a specification to define how it should be built.

He/she needs to know the rules and regulations to get all correctÞ Terminology, Þ Contract Models Þ RYL and RT-files

etc.Constructor needs the spec for the actual building work.

Constructor searches for corresponding materials

Building Specifications Tool

• We are creating a Building Specification Tool, which connects the RT Building Information File, government rules, RT Product Information (later also called TEHO) and CAD/BIM models.

• Specification Tool should be easy to use, efficient and time-saving - even a pleasure to use in everyday work.

• It should have a different UI for different purposes like planning vs. construction.– There´s another demand for usability at the construction site. It should

be mobile, accessible at any time, anywhere with any device.

– Material choice is finally made by constructor.
