Strategic Plans
Directorate PEE Implement and monitor all aspects of the Medicine
prices Regulations. Establish and manage a “Pharmaceutical Intelligence
database” Establish a Pharmaco-economics evaluation unit. Conduct and supervise Operational research on
relevant topics to medicines prices. Establish networks, working relationships with all
major stakeholders and other countries.

Directorate PPP Consolidate the Licensing activities related to Pharmacies
and health professionals who want to dispense medicines. Consolidate all the activities related to procurement and
distribution of medicines for the State. Consolidate and finalise the setting up of a reliable IT
system for medicines. Consolidate the activities related to the Essential Drugs
Program.

Directorate FC Consolidate the National contact point for FAO?WHO
Codex Alimentarius Commission. To pursue the establishment of the New Integrated Food
Control System. Render proactive and reactive support to Local Authorities. Consolidate the monitoring and legislative activities
associated with chemical pesticides, biopesticides, food contaminants, food labelling.

Revision of the National Drug Policy 1996.
Compliance of the State by July 2005 to the requirements of the Pharmacy Act, 1997 and the Medicines and Related Substances Act, 1997
Availability of human resources. Monitoring the impact of implemented policies.
Meaningful interaction with International organisations, NGO’s and donors.
