CB530 MAC-AFRIC WHEEL BALANCER

Calibration of the CB530 wheel balancer

Calibration of the CB530 wheel balancing machine will require the following:

- One assembled machine - Wheel balancing multi tool plier - 1 x 100gram wheel weight (Should

be supplied with the machine) - 13 / 14” Rim and wheel

The machine will give a reading on the display panel as seen in the picture the first time it is switched on.

Press and hold the “C” and the “F” buttons together. You will notice the words “CAL” appear in both the screens to the left.

Wait till the lights stop flashing on both sides of the small screens. The machine is now ready to be calibrated

Page 22: 1 DESCRIPTION OF THE BALANCING MACHINE1 DESCRIPTION OF THE BALANCING MACHINE 1.1--GRNERAL It is an electronic balancing machine with microprocessor designed for balancing wheels weighting

- Secure the rim and wheel to the balancing shaft with the cone shaped fastener. Make sure that the cone shaped fastener sits inside the rim and is fastened properly. Not following this procedure will result in the rim warping whilst the machine is calibrating, causing the machine to give inaccurate readings.

- Close and hold the cover over the wheel.

- Push the “START” button in the top-right corner of the control panel. The wheel will start spinning and will come to a stop after the spin

l

Page 23: 1 DESCRIPTION OF THE BALANCING MACHINE1 DESCRIPTION OF THE BALANCING MACHINE 1.1--GRNERAL It is an electronic balancing machine with microprocessor designed for balancing wheels weighting

- The machine will display the following message in the small screens on the control panel. This means that you must add the 100gram wheel weight onto the rim.

- The weight must be added directly above the balancing shaft (in other words, 12’o clock when standing in front of the shaft)

- Close the hood again, press the start button and allow the machine to finish the spin cycle. With the wheel weight added, you should see the following letters on the display “End” and “CAL”. This means the machine has been calibrated.

Page 24: 1 DESCRIPTION OF THE BALANCING MACHINE1 DESCRIPTION OF THE BALANCING MACHINE 1.1--GRNERAL It is an electronic balancing machine with microprocessor designed for balancing wheels weighting

- With the machine now calibrated, remove the 100gram wheel weight, close the cover and press the start button.

- The control panel will display numbers (these should be in increments of 5) on both of the small screens. The number displayed is the amount of weight that needs to be added onto the rim, and must be either added on the inside or outside of the rim.

- Check the following before knocking the wheel weight into place:

1. All the lights next to the box you are focusing on must be illuminated. This means that if you are placing the 40 gram weight on the “OUTER” rim first, all the lights next to that box must be on. This is done by rotating the wheel (whilst still on the shaft) until all the lights are on.

2. The wheel weight must be knocked in above the shaft (12”0 clock when standing in front o fthe shaft).

- When the weights have been added, press the start button again. The machine should show a zero in both the displays when the wheel is properly balanced.
