Data Tables
• The problem: Thousands of presentations
• Requirements: Want to search and sort by title, organization, topic and date
• The solution: A data table– ActioNet set up– Requires special
tagging of every single file, so can be time intensive.

Google Analytics Upgrade to Universal Analytics
BackgroundEERE recently upgraded its account to Universal Analytics to address statistical collection errors resulting from the migration.
After EERE office sites migrated into energy.gov, patterns inconsistent with historical data emerged in:• Sessions• Session Duration• Pages Per Session• Bounce Rates• Percentage of New Visitors• Percentage of Returning Visitors• Percentage Exit.
17
Google Analytics Upgrade to Universal Analytics
Correction Steps• Verified that the findings were consistent across
energy.gov-hosted views in the EERE account• Identified that upgrading EERE’s account to Universal
Analytics was a solution• Tested Universal Analytics on two development sites and
one production site• Upgraded to Universal Analytics on three properties that
included energy.gov views starting 8/19:— Bioenergy— Geothermal— Weatherization.
• Upgraded the entire account on 8/26.

Google Analytics Upgrade to Universal Analytics
FY14 Reporting• Expect to see these metrics trending toward historical
averages for your websites starting on 8/26• Non-energy.gov websites were not affected by the upgrade. • If you have content in energy.gov, you can include language
similar to this in your FY14 stats reports:“Specific data for EERE Web pages in energy.gov collected incorrectly between launch in the system and 8/26/14. Number of Sessions, Session Duration, Pages Per Session, Bounce Rates, Percentage of New and Returning Visitors, and Percentage Exit reflect inaccurate variations compared to historical averages because of this error. Configuration upgrades have been made to address these collection errors.”
