Staffing at major airports
In FY 07/08, 5 investigator positions were funded from an increase in fees paid to the PUC by limousine operators to work exclusively at the state’s major airports. The limousine industry and the airports believe that this increased presence will greatly reduce the problem of limousines operating without a permit issued by the PUC. CPSD staff has already implemented an effective enforcement plan at the Los Angeles World Airport, and is currently working with airport authorities and local prosecutors.
