Construction
Over the last two weeks, we have seen the
installation of the lift. It should be handed over
in the first week of the holidays. I was also
recently informed that the school would be
receiving new roofs and guttering, this work will
commence in these holidays. The construction of
the multipurpose sports field will also start in
the first couple of weeks of term 4. I am
excited to see the completion of the capital
works.

challenged themselves to try different activities often stepping out of their comfort zone. It was lovely
to see the students supporting and encouraging each other to achieve the challenges. Thank you to the
staff who attended who worked tirelessly to ensure we all had a good time and returned home safely.
2019 Enrolments
We are now taking enrolments for Kindergarten for 2019. If
you have a child who is turning 5 on or before July 31st 2019,

CoS Art day On Tuesday 11th of September, our Aboriginal Education Committee had the opportunity to invite Stage 2 Aboriginal students from our Community of Schools; Briar Road, Woodlands Road and John Warby. All students attended 3 Art and Craft workshops lead by 2 local artists Michael Fardon and Randall Green. Year 6 students from Bradbury Public School and members of our Jnr AECG did a fantastic job leading by example and demonstrated great leadership skills. All students participated in string art, painting and charcoal art with an Aboriginal perspective. Feedback from the day was positive, so this may be an initiative that we offer our CoS in the future.
Thank you to all the parents and students who have been supporting our bottle collection with Nepean Distributers. We have currently raised $185.00 dollars for the school and have another two bags of recycling being collected this week. It has been great to hear many of our students picking up the bottles and commenting on how much money we could earn if containers were put into the recycling and not dropped on the ground. One boy looked around and said to me “Mrs Thompson, I found 50cents”. He had picked up five containers and was adding them to our collection. Just a quick reminder that we are unable to recycle milk containers. The bottles and cartons we are able to recycle all have 10c written on the side of them. Please keep the bottles and containers coming in. The bins for these recyclables are located outside of room 13 or can be taken to your child’s class. Thank you for your support. Mrs. Thompson

4/5/6W Night of the Notables All 4/5/6W’s hard work on researching, creating bio-riddles and learning centres on their Notable person were presented to family and friends on Tuesday 18 September. It was an enjoyable night with the students dressing up as their Notable and reciting their bio-riddle and challenging the audience to guess whom they had researched for the term. Their learning centres where colourful and very informative.
Regional Spelling Bee
On Thursday 13 September, I had the privilege of attending the Regional Final of the Premier's Spelling
Bee at Thomas Acres Public School with four of our very talented students. Alana (3/4F) and Aiden
(3D) competed in the Stage 2 division against 32 other students from across the South Western Region,
while Elise (4/5/6W) and Haniyya (6A) competed in the Stage 3 division against 34 other students. The
winner from each division will now progress to the State Final in Sydney later in November.
Although Alana, Aiden, Elise and Haniyya were unsuccessful in progressing to the State Final, it’s an
amazing achievement to reach this level of the competition, and all four students are to be
congratulated of their fantastic efforts.
