Mood Board AnalysisIs there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated colours/images styles/fonts/tone/moodThe first images that I looked at were the front covers of film magazines. I noticed that they always included a front feature which would usually be a character from the film that the magazine was focusing on. I also looked at existing pixel art and a lot of the images weren’t very detailed and interesting so I searched for detailed pixel art and the results were much more promising. When I looked at comic style characters the colours were much more specific and bold. The layout out of the magazine pages were also repeated, they have the title at the top, a plain image and writing around the sides. The comic style fonts that I found were very similar to each other but the fonts used for the magazines were repeated and looked very formal. The tone and mood that all the images brought across would be they are all very specific and bold, they stand out and give off a positive yet professional mood.

How will your mood board influence your final product?My mood board will influence my final product because I like the layout and style of the film magazine covers that I have already looked at. I also think that I will use similar colours as the ones used on the comic covers and characters because they come across really solid and vibrant. The pixel art I looked at wasn’t as detailed as I would like my pixel art to be. I think the more detailed you make pixel art the more interesting it looks, you can also add shadows and reflections when you have a high resolution.

Informal ProposalCurrent Idea

Concept The concept of the magazine is going to present films, comics and games. The idea is that the magazine on a whole will be made of pixels, therefore it will be unique.

Type of products you would make

I am going to make the front cover of the magazine, the contents page, the back page and some page spreads. These will include there own unique themes, designs, colour schemes and genres. Doing this will give me a wider audience appeal.

To make these products I will mainly be using the computer. I will use Photoshop and each document will have the same resolution. Google will also be helpful, I will be able to use image templates to guide me.

Audience The audience that I am aiming my product at will be anybody over the age of 14. This is because I am going to base my magazine on mainly action and adventure films.
