Cutlines

Most cutlines contain at least who, what, when and where (and usually in that order)

The Daily Chronicle is an award-winning newspaper that serves DeKalb County, Ill. We pride ourselves on being the most-decorated small daily newspaper in the state, and a large part of that is due to the exceptional images our two-photographer team provides for each edition of the newspaper. We want someone who is going to dig in to each assignment and possess solid journalism skills. Our photographers are expected to take documentary-style images for the news, sports and features sections for both the print and online editions. Slideshows for our website are expected. We want a self-starter capable of handling daily assignments as well as more in-depth stories. Knowledge of Photoshop, Photo Mechanic and Soundslide Plus required. Night and weekend work is expected. Solid knowledge and usage of AP Style required. Ability to shoot video and interest in blogging a plus. Candidates with at least a year of professional experience will be considered, but those with exceptional internship experience are encouraged to apply.
