Invocations for Morning and Evening (Arabic + translation + transliteration)

SUBHANALLAHI WABI HAMDIHI, ADADA KHALQIHI, WA RIDA NAFSIHI, WA

ZEENATA ARSHIHI, WA MIDAADA KALEEMATIHI.

How perfect Allah is and I praise Him by the number of His creation and as much as His

pleasure, and by the weight of His throne, and the ink of His words.

ALLAHUMMA SAWWLI WA SALLIM ALAA NABIYYINAH MUHAMMAD

O Allah! Send prayers and peace upon our prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

ALLAHU LAA ELAAHA ILLAH HUO. AL-HAYYUL QAYYUM. LAA TA KUZUHU

SEENATU-WALA NAUM. LAHU MAA FES-SAMAAWATI WA MAA FIL ARDH.

MAN ZAL-LAZEE YASHFAUO, ENDAHUUUU ILLAH BI-IZNEE. YA’LAMU MAA

BAINA AYDEEHIM WAMA KALFAHUM , WALA YUHEETUNA BISHAY-IM MIN

ELMIHIIII ILLAH BI MAA SHAAAA. WASEE’AA, KURSIY-YUHUS SAMAWAATI

WAL-ARDH. WALA YAHUUDUHU HIFZUHUMA, WAHUWAL ALEYYUL

AZEEM.

Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence.

Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the

heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by

His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them,

and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi

extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is

the Most High, the Most Great. (2:255)

ALLAHUMMA BIKA ASBAHNA, WA BIKA AMSAINA, WA BIKA NAHYA, WA

BIKA NAMUUTO, WA ILAIYKAL MASEER.

O Allah! By your leave we have reached the morning and by Your leave we have

reached the evening, by Your leave we live and die, and unto You is our return.

ALLAHUMMA FAATIRAS SAMAAWAATI WAL-ARDH. AALIMAL GAIBI

WASH-SHAHADAH. LAA ILAHA ILLAH ANTHA RABBA KULLE SHAY- EEW

WA MALEEKAH. AOOZUBIKA MIN SHARE NAFSEE WA MIN SHARRISH-

SHAITAN. WA SHIRKIHA WA- AN AQTARIFA A’LAA NAFSEE SOOAN AUW

AJUR-RAHU ILAA MUSLIM.

O Allah! Creator of the heavens and the earth, knower of the unseen and the

evident, lord and sovereign of all things, I bear witness that there is no God but you.

I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil and trappings of

Satan, and from committing wrong against my soul or bringing such upon another

Muslim.

ASBAHNA ALAA FITRATIL ISLAAM WA ALAA KALIMATIL IKHLAAS WA

ALAA DEENE NABIYYENA MUHAMMADIN (S.A.W.S) WA ALAA MIL-LATI

ABEENA IBRAHEEMA HANEEFAM MUSLIMAW WAMAA KAANA MINAL

MUSHRIKEEN.

We have entered a new day upon the nature of Islam (In the evening say: “We have

entered a new evening….”) and the word of pure faith, and upon the religion of our

prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.S) and the religion of our forefather Ibrahim, Who was

a Muslim and of true faith and was not of those who associate partners with Allah.

ALLAHUMMA MAA ASBAH BI MIN-NIYMAH, FAMINKA WAHDAKA LAA

SHAREEKA LAK. FALAKAL HAMDU WALAKASH-SHUKR.

O Allah! Whatever blessing I have risen upon this morning (In the evening say:

“Whatever blessing I have risen upon this evening ….”) is from You alone, You have

no partner. So, for You is all praise and unto You all thanks.

ALLAHUMMA ENNE ASBHATU USH HIDUKA WA USH-HIDU HAMALATA

ARSHIKA, WA MALAAIKATIKA, WA JAMEEAA KHALQIKA ANNAKA

ANTALLAHU LAA ILAA HA ILLAH ANTH. WAHDAKA LAA

SHAREEKA LAK. WA ANNA MUHAMMADAN ABDUKA WA RASOOLUK

O Allah! I have entered a new morning and call upon You and upon the bearers of

Your Throne, upon your angels and all of Your creation to bear witness that surely

You are Allah, there is no God but You Alone, You have no partners and that

Muhammad (S.A.W.S) is Your servant and Your messenger.

***SAY THIS IN THE EVENING***

AMSAYNAA WA WA-AMSAL MULKU LILAAHI RABBIL AALAMEEN.

ALLAHUMA ENNE ASALUKA KAIRA HAZIHIL LAILATI FATHAHA, WA

NASRAHA, WA NOORAHA, WA BARAKATAHA, WA HUDAAHA. WA

AOOZUBIKA MIN SHARRE MA FEEHA WA SHARRE MA B’AADAHA.

We have entered a new evening and also all creation in Allah’s dominion, lord of the

worlds, have entered the evening. O Allah! I ask you for the good of this night, for

its victory and its help, for its light and its blessings, and its guidance. I seek refuge

in You from the evil of this (night) and the evil that follows it.

refuge in You from the evil of this (day) and the evil that follows it.

RADEETU BILLAHI RAB-BAW WA BIL ISLAAMI DEENW- WA BI

MUHAMMADIN NABIYYA.

I am pleased with Allah as lord, with Islam as the religion and with Muhammad as

We have entered a new evening and also all creation in Allah’s dominion, lord of the

worlds, have entered the evening. O Allah! I ask You for the good of this night, for it’s

guidance. I seek refuge in You from the evil of this (night) and the evil that follows it.

AOOZUBI KALIMAATIL LAAAHIT –TAAAAM-MAAATE MIN SHARRE MAA

KALAQ.

I seek refuge in the totality of the words of Allah from the evil of creation.

BISMILLAHIL-LAZEE LAA YADURRU MA’A ASMIHI SHAYUN FIL ARDI WALA

FIS SAMAAH. WA HUWAS- SAMEEWOOL ALEEM.

In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing can cause harm on earth nor in the

heavens, and He is The All-hearer, The All-Knower.

ALLAHUMMA AAFINE FEE BADANEE, ALLAHUMMA AAFINEE FEE SAMEE,

ALLAHUMMA AAFINEE FEE BASAREE, LAAAAA ILAA HA ILLAH ANTH.

O Allah! Grant well-being (health), to my body, O Allah! Grant well-being to my

hearing, O Allah! Grant well-being to my sight. There is no God but You.

ALLAHUMMA ENNE AOOZUBIKA MINAL KUFRI WAL FAQR.

ALLAHUMMA ENNE AOOZUBIKA MIN AZAABIL QABRI LAA ILAAHA

ILLAH ANTH.

O Allah! I seek refuge in you from disbelief and poverty. O Allah! I seek refuge in You

from the punishment of the grave. There is no God but You.

YAA HAYYU YAA QAYYUM BI-RAHMATIKA ASTAGEES. FASLIH LEE SHA’- NEE

KULLAHU WA LAA TAKILNEE ELAA NAFSEE TARFATA AYEN.

O Ever-Living! O Self-Subsisting and supporter of all, by Your mercy I seek assistance

So rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me in charge of my affairs even

for a blink of an eye.

ALLAHUMM ANTA RABBI LAAAAA ILAHA ILLAH ANTHA KALAQTANEE

WA ANA ABDUKA WA ANA ALAA AHDIKA, WA WA’ADIKA,

MASTATA’TU, AOOZUBIKA MIN SHARRE MAA SANA’ATU ABU-OU LAKA

BINI’YMATIKA ALLAYYA WA ABU-OU BIZAMBEE FAQFIRLEE, INNAHU

LAA YAGHFIRUZ-ZUNOOBA ILLAH ANTH.

O Allah! I You are my lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your

slave. I keep Your covenant, and my pledge to You so far as I am able. I seek refuge

in you from the evil of creation. I recognize Your blessings upon me, and I recognize

my misdeeds. Forgive me, for surely there is none who may forgive sins but You.

ALLAHUMMA ENNE ASALUKAL A’AFIYATA FID-DUNYAA WAL

AAKHIRAH, ALLAHUMMA ENNE ASALUKAL AFWA WAL-A’AFIYAH, FEE

DEENEE, WA DUNYAYA, WA AHLEE, WA MAALEE, ALLAHUMMASTUR

A’AWRAATEE WA AAMIR RAWAATEE. ALLAHUMAH- FAZNEE MIM

BAINI YADAYYA WA MIN KHALFI, WA- AY-YAMEENEE, WA–AN

SHIMAALEE, WA MIN FAWQEE, WA AOOZUBI- AZMATIKA AN

OUGHTAALA MIN TAHTEE.

O Allah! I seek well-being in this world and the next. O Allah! I ask You for forgiveness and

well-being in my religion and in my life (life in this) world, in my family, and in my

property. O Allah! Veil my faults and pacify me from anguish. O Allah! Guard me from in

front of me and behind me, from my left and from my right, and from above me and I seek

protection in Your greatness from being struck down from beneath.

SUBHANALLAHI WA BIHAMDIHEE, LAA QUWWATA ELLA, BILLAH,

MAA SHAAA ALLAHU KAANA WA MAA LAM YASHA’-LAM YAKUN,

A’ALAMU ANNALLAHA ALAA KULLI SHAIYEEN QADEER. WA

ANNALLAHA QAD AHAATA BI KULLI SHAIYEEN ELMA.

How perfect Allah is and praise is to him. There is no might except with Allah.

That which Allah wills, happens and that which he does not, will not happen. I

know that Allah is upon all things All-Powerful and that Allah’s knowledge

encompasses all things.

ALLAHUMMA ENNE AOOZUBIKA MINAL HAMMI ,WAL HUZN, WAL

AJZI, WAL KASLI, WAL JUBNI, WAL BUKHLI, WA DALAED-DAINI, WA

GALABATIR-RIJAAL.

O Allah! I seek refuge in you from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness,

miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debts and from being over powered by

men.

FASUBHANALLAHI HEENA TUMSUUNA WA HEENA TUSBIHIOON. WA

LAHUL HAMDU FIS-SAMAWAATI WAL-ARDHI WA A’SHIY-YAW WA

HEENA TUZHIROON. YUKRIJUL HAYYA MINAL MAYYITI, WA YUKRIJUL

MAYYITA MINAL HAYYI, WA YUHYIL ARDHA BA’ADA MAWTIHA. WA

KAZALIKA TUKRAJOON.

So glorify Allah when you enter the evening and when you enter the morning.

And his are all praises in the heavens and the earth, and (glorify him) in the

afternoon and when you approach the time, when the day begins to decline. He

brings out the living from the dead, and brings out the dead from the living. And

He revives the earth its death. And thus you shall be brought out.

HUWALLAAHUL LAZEE LA ILAAHA ILLA HOO. ALMALIKUL,

QUDDOOSUS, SALAAMUL, MU’MINUL, MUHAYMINUL, AZEEZUL

JABBAARUL MUTAKABBIR. SUBHANALLAHI AMMA YUSHRIKOON (23)

HUWALLAAHUL KHAALIQUL, BAARIUL, MUSAWWIRUL, LAHUL

ASMAAUL HUSNA. YUSABBIHU LAHU MAA FIS SAMAAWAATI

WALARD ,WAHUWAL AZEEZUL HAKEEM (24)

He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the

witnessed. He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. (22)He is Allah,

other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the

Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the

Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. (23)He is

Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names.

Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in

Might, the Wise. (24)

QUL HUWAL- LAAHU AHAD (1) ALLAHUS- SAMAD (2) LAM YA LID, WALAM

YUU LAD. (3) WALAM YA KULLAHU KUFUWAN AHAD(4)

Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, (1) Allah, the Eternal Refuge. (2) He neither begets nor

is born, (3) Nor is there to Him any equivalent." (4)

BISMILLAH HIR-RAHMAAN NIRRAHEEM

QUL AOOZUBI RABBIL FALAQ (1) MIN SHARRI, MAA KALAQ(2) WA

MIN SHARRI GAASIQIN EZAA WAQAB (3) WA MIN SHARRIN-

NAFFAASAATI FIL UQAD (4) WAMIN SHARRI HAASIDIN IZA HASAD(5)

Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak (1) From the evil of that which He

created (2) And from the evil of darkness when it settles (3) And from the evil of

the blowers in knots (4) And from the evil of an envier when he envies." (5)

QUL AOOZUBI RABBIN NAAS (1) MALIKN-NAAS (2) ELAHIN

NAAS (3) MIN SHARRIL WASWAASIL KANNAAS (4) ALLAZEE

YUWASVISU FEE SUDURIN NAAS (5) MINAL JINNATI WAN NAAS (6)

Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, (1) The Sovereign of mankind. (2) The

God of mankind, (3) From the evil of the retreating whisperer - (4) Who whispers

[evil] into the breasts of mankind - (5) From among the jinn and mankind." (6)

HASBIYALLAHU LAAAA ILAHA ILLAH HUA, A’LAIHI TAWAKKALTU WAHUWA

RABBUL ARSHIL AZEEM

Allah is sufficient for me. There is no God but He. I have placed my trust in Him and He

is Lord of the Exalted Throne.

LAAAAA ILAAHA ILLALLAHU WAHDAHU, LAA SHARIKA LAHU, LAHUL

MULKU WALAHUL HAMDU WA HUA ALAA KULLE SHAYEN QADEER.

There is no god but Allah, Alone. He has no partner. To Allah belongs possession

of everything and unto Him is all praise and He is upon all things All-Powerful

(Wholly-capable).
