Together with a partner, HOCHTIEF constructed one of the first privately financed and operated toll routes in Germany, the Herrentunnel. The new tunnel is approximately one kilometer (0.62 miles) long and replaced a bascule bridge with limited use.It will also be operated by us in the next 30 years.

We built and finished the 225-meter-tall (738 feet) smokestack in the Voerde coal-fired power plant in just ten weeks—in all weather conditions and around the clock. Each day the sliding formwork construction stretched four meters (13 feet) higher into the sky.
