God had very few menfew men to whom He could speakcould speak in those days.

Almost every one was doing what was right in his right in his own eyesown eyes, following his own willhis own will.

2 And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see; 3 And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep; 4 That the Lord called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.

5 And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down. 6 And the Lord called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.

7 Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, neither was the Word of the Lord yet revealed unto him. 8 And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the Lord had called the child.

9 Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if He call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Lord; for Thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

12

They couldn't blameblame their sin on God; nornor their death when it came.

James 1 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

13

Sin has a definitedefinite starting place:

In each man's own lustown lust.

14

The capacity to sincapacity to sin is in each person's heart, whether we be saved or lostsaved or lost.

But sin does notnot have dominion over the saved.

The children of the devil may say in truth,

"I couldn't help myself."

15

Romans 6 12 Let notLet not (choice) sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield yeNeither yield ye (choice) your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves (choice) unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over yousin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

18

It is almost impossible to turn from sin, unless we also turn unto righteousness.

"I am going to quit getting high, and just hang out with my friends, but not do drugs."

If I wantwant to change, I will completelycompletely change.
