4
Browse to folder for Backup
5
Under OE2003/backup/event
6
Create new folder automatically
7
Gives date/time name
Keep creating new folders and get a series of backups
8
Backup (cont)
• Should backup every 15 minutes when time permits
• Can also backup to a remote storage unit (flash disk)
• Can transfer an event to another computer by setting up a new event on another PC, then restore from the flash disk and get a duplicate event
9
Browse to folder when restoring
10
Other Event software
•MT2003: multi day eventsvirtually identical to OE2003 except treat each day as separate event (1 or 2).not available on web page with other software; special URL
•Need to pay for a software key to use
•OE Score: looks similar to OE2003 but can assess late points and assign different points to different controls
11
Archive Manager
• Is a program to edit a master list of competitors from your area.
• To use, copy files to folder Archive under the programs OE2003 or MT2003.
• When entering a new competitor, get a drop down list of names and details from the Archive list; double click and information entered into your event

Thermal Printer for Splits
• Refer to Printer guide.pdf• Allows immediate printout of splits from
first control to finish• Does not know what time you started so
don’t know time from start to #1 (scheduled start events)
• If use a start punch, get all splits printed
20
Battery Life
v4 units: • Expect about 200h on the 3 AA battery units• Battery level indicator roughly correct but for
critical events, measure voltage on each battery and compare to discharge graph (pdf file).
<3.9 volts is >60% exhausted so should replace
v7: expect 4-7 years service
v8: expect 3-5 years
21
Computer Network
• For large events, good to connect two (or more) computers for division of labour
• For two, simply use crossover cable between network connectors. For more, use a hub to connect everything
• One database used on Master computer for downloading at finish
• 2nd computer for registering people into same database and printing results
• shut off all firewalls to allow computers to communicate.
22
Interrogate Control data
• Can look at SI# stored on any control to see if person completed a punch cycle
• Shows error codes if the entire process was not completed (“ErrA-F” if remove finger punch before finishes operation)
• Can find out who started but is not back yet by looking at Start and Check stations (not 100% accurate)
