Suggestions for using this powerpoint to study sight words:

Week 1: Click through the first nine words each night*

Week 2: Click through the next nine words each night*

Week 3: Click through all eighteen words each night*

*Mix it up: (A) Click backwards through the words some nights.

(B) Have your child listen to the word first, then repeat it.

(C) Have your child say the word first, then listen to the word.

Flash Cards: Print out as flash cards (Handouts/6 per page) and go through them each night before bed. (Or have your child write the words on index cards to use as flash cards. Writing the words gives them an additional study opportunity.)

Parents: Say a word. Give your child the flash cards and ask him/her to find the word.

Play a game: Lay out the flash cards on the floor or table. Parent reads a word, child has to find the card with that word and pick it up. Then, child reads a word, parent

has to find the card with that word and pick it up. Play until all the cards are picked up.
