Fraud Protection Services Filters - BasicFraud Protection Services Filters - Basic
Total Purchase Price Ceiling – if your average order are $100 dollars and your largest order is $200; you may want to review any order that comes in over $150 because you rarely see orders that large. Since fraudsters aren’t price sensitive it is worth your time to quickly review the higher dollar transactions.
Total Item Ceiling – if your orders are typically 1 or 2 items, then at some unit number you would probably be suspicious, let’s say 7 or more. Again, you can set your wizard to say review or reject an order over 7 items.
Shipping and Billing Mismatch – this filter would alert you if someone was shipping to somewhere other than their billing address. It’s common for presents being purchased for someone else, however, it is also common with a thief who needs the billing address to match for the authorization to be approved, but they are shipping to a different location.
AVS Failure – means the specific street number (123) does not exist in the zip code (95120) they are specifying, according to the purchaser’s issuer.
CSC Failure – means that card holder or purchaser can’t tell you what the CSV or CVV2 code (that 3 or 4-digit code on the back of the card) is which may mean they don’t have the card in their possession.
Zip Risk List Match - means the zip code of the shipping or billing address is located in a zip code that has a higher incident of fraud in e-commerce transactions.
Freight Forwarder Risk List Match – means that the shipping address is to a freight forwarding service which has a higher risk of fraud associated with it.
19
Fraud Protection Services Filters - advancedFraud Protection Services Filters - advancedUSPS Address Validation Failure – means according to the USPS database of addresses, the shipping or billing address did not have a valid that exists in the USPS
database.
BIN Risk List Match – means the first 6 digits of the credit card that person is using has been identified as a high-risk card according to our database – meaning the company that issues that cards is known for having a higher activity of fraud among their cards issued.
Email Service Provider Risk List Match – means the email service provider has shown a higher susceptibility to fraud – their customers use their email service as their communication tool.
IP Address Risk List Failure – means the IP address has been determined to be a high-risk address.
Geo-location failure – means the location of the IP where the order is being submitted versus the address the purchaser is stating as their ordering address are considerably far apart.
Bad list - this feature allows you to create your own “Bad list” of previous credit card information or email addresses that you know to be bad customers. For example, you have a customer who consistently issues charge backs, you can “blacklist” by adding them to your bad list.
Non – US Address - indicates whether the address located within the United States.
International IP Address - will tell you from which country the order is being placed.
International AVS –
High Risk Country Risk List Match – means the shipping, billing, or IP address matched with a country considered high-risk.
Good Lists – allow you to set credit card numbers and/or email addresses of your “best” customers. Customers you have a good relationship with that you trust are making legitimate order no matter how large or how small the order may be. This also prevents you from having to review an order.
Total Purchase Price Floor – this allows you to set a price, for example, $10 where you will always let an order below a certain dollar amount to be automatically approved.
