In Russia almost 100 per cent research and development works in the field of motor starters, thermal relays and miniature control relays are fulfilled in VNIIR.

VNIIR is a monopolist in the area of designing, development and production of relay protection devices for ship electric equipment.

The majority of static and electromechanical relay protection devices produced in Russia were developed in VNIIR.
