The Grand Canyon is located entirely in northern Arizona. It is one of the greatest destinations of Americans and tourists around the world. The Grand Canyon is known for its size and colorful landscape. The canyon spread throughout several distinct areas, most famous of which is Grand Canyon National Park.

The national park itself divided into North Rim and South Rim, it was first became protected in 1983 as a Forest Reserve and later achieving National Park status in 1919. In addition, the southwestern end of the canyon is located within the borders of two Indian reservations also known as Grand Canyon West.

Imperial Point, Grand Canyon

Imperial Point is the highest of the North Rim overlooks. From here there are excellent views of Mount Hayden and Nankowep Canyon.

South Rim is open all year to the visitors. The Grand Canyon village is the center of all activity and acts as a hub for the South Rim of the Park. Visitors can get around the village using the Village Shuttle Bus. Inside the village, there are bank, store, post office and restaurant ready most needs of visitors.

North Rim is very close to Utah border. It is more remote and accounted for only 10% of all visitors. The North Rim has a short season from May 15th through October 15th each year. Many visitors who visited the South Rim will find excitement in visiting the North Rim for the next visit.
