1. What is the Pag-IBIG Savings Program? The Pag-IBIG Savings Program is a fast, easy and affordable way for Pag-IBIG members to save for their future. Their monthly savings, employer counterpart share (if any) and total annual dividend earnings comprise the member’s Total Accumulated Savings or TAV. 2. Who should register as Pag-IBIG members? With the signing of Republic Act 9679, membership to Pag-IBIG is mandatory for the following: * All employees, workers, professionals, officers and companies who are compulsorily covered by the SSS and GSIS; * Uniformed members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Bureau of Fire Protection,the Bureau of Jail Manage ment and Penology, and the Philippine National Police; * Overseas Filipino Workers; * Filipinos employed by foreign-based employers, whether deployed locally or abroad * Kasambahays * Other working groups Persons who are at least 18 years old but not more than 65 years old and are not subject to mandatory coverage may be covered by the Fund on a voluntary basis, to wit: * Unemployed spouses * Filipino employees of foreign government or international organization or their wholly-owned instrumentality based in the Philippines * Employees of an employer who is granted a waiver or suspension of coverage by the Fund * Leaders and members of religious groups * A member separated from employment, local or abroad, or ceased to be self-employed, i.e. pensioners, investor, etc. * Public officials of employees who are not covered by the GSIS such as barangay officials and workers 3. How much is the monthly savings? The monthly savings rate for all members, except non-working spouses, are as follows: Monthly Salary Percentage of Monthly Compensation Employee Savings Employer Share P1,500 and below 1% 2% Over P1,500 2% 2% With P5,000 as the maximum monthly compensation used in computing the employee savings,the maximum employer counterpart share is P100, while members are encourage to save more than the minimum P100 monthly. 4. Where can members pay their monthly savings? Employer-members can pay through any of the following online payment gateways (enrollment is required): Union Bank of the Philippines (UBP) - Pag-IBIG Hub Bank of the Philippines (BPI) - ExpressLink Land Bank of the Philippines – wePayAcces Available soon: Banknet- Pag-IBIG Net Security Bank – Pag-IBIG RealTime Self-paying members can remit their monthly savings at the following: Bayad Center outlets (with convenience fee of P7.00) SM Business Centers (with convenience fee of P5.00) Globe GCash (with convenience fee of P5.00) Online using VISA and and MasterCard Credit Cards (convenience fee of 3.6% of the amount to be paid; e.g. P1,000 = P36.00) For other details, visit the Pag-IBIG Fund website at www.pagibigfund.gov.ph and click “Payments Made Easy”. 5. What are the features of the Savings Program? All savings are government-guaranteed Tax free annual dividend earnings With the employer counterpart share, members’ monthly savings is immediately doubled Portability of savings – members who transfer employers, from government to the private sector and vise-versa, carry their Fund membership and may continue it at any time. 6. What are the benefits of Pag-IBIG membership? Pag-IBIG members enjoy the following benefits * Annual dividend earnings, tax-free * Access to Short-Term Loan Programs * Access to Housing Loan Program 7. When can a member withdraw his/her total savings from Pag-IBIG? A member may withdraw his/her total Pag-IBIG savings (provident benefits claim) upon occurrence of any of the following: * Membership maturity after 20 years of continuous membership. The member must have remitted at least 240 monthly membership contributions with the Fund. * Members who registered in 2010, under RS 9679 has the option to withdraw their savings after 15 years of continuous membership. * Retirement. The member shall be compulsorily retired upon reaching age 65. He may however, opt to retire upon the occurrence of any of the following: Actual retirement from the SSS, the GSIS or a separate employer provident/retirement plan, provided the member is least 45 years Upon reaching age 60. * Permanent and Total Disability or Insanity. * Separation from the service due to health reason * Permanent departure from the country * Upon death of the member, where his legal heirs shall receive hisTAV plus an additional Death Benefit Grant equivalent to this TAV or P6,000, whichever is lower. 8. Where to file for provident benefits claim and what are the basic requirements? A member who is eligible to apply for provident benefits claim may file the application at the Pag-IBIG branch servicing his/her account, and bring with him/her the following: * Duly accomplished Application for Provident Benefits (APB) Claim (Downloadable from the website (www.pagibigfund.gov.ph) * Two (2) valid IDs * Updated Service Record (For government employees) * Special Power of Attorney and two (2) valid IDs each of the Principal and Attorney-in-Fact (If member cannot claim personally) * Other requirements, depending on the reason for withdrawal of total savings (check website for complete checklist of requirement) Contents last updated on August 2014.
