An active writer and speaker, Seigenthaler hosts the weekly book pro-gram A Word on Words with John Seigen-thaler on Nashville Public Television, where he interviews noted novelists, journalists, historians, memoirists and others. A strong advocate of First Amendment rights of free expression, he also has been a nationally recognized critic of willfully false and mis-leading online vandalism. His controversy with Wikipedia for posting anonymous, libelous statements led to that website’s revising its policies.

Myers will be the keynote speaker at this year’s event, com-memorating the tenth anniversary of 9/11. As the then-chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Myers was at the center of the Bush administration’s strategy of promoting democratic movements and human rights as one element of the U.S. war on terror. Mrs. Myers has been an advocate of women’s rights in the Middle East and elsewhere, and she will

An active writer and speaker, Seigenthaler hosts the weekly book program “A Word on Words with John Seigenthaler” on WNPT, Nashville Public Tele-vision, where he interviews noted novelists, journalists, historians, memoirists and others.

A strong advocate of first amendment rights of free expression, he also has been a nationally recognized critic of willfully false and mislead-ing online vandalism. His controversy with Wikipedia for posting anonymous, libelous statements led to that website’s revising its policies.
