India is the world's second-fastest growing automarket after China. And this claim is further

borne out by the fact that Indian automobile

majors registered the highest-ever monthly sales

in August 2010.

With more and more Indians buying automobiles

on the back of a rise in income and easy loans, car majors too are launching newer models to

offer a wide choice to prospective customers.

Car sales are seen soaring in the current fiscal year, according to the Society of Indian

Automobile Manufacturers. SIAM had already predicted that the total sales of cars in domestic

market to be 17,14,925 units in 2010-11. In 2009-10, domestic passenger car sales stood at

15,26,259 units as against 12,20,475 units in 2008-09, an increase of over 25 per cent.
