1. OpenAudit: 

There is a network discovery, inventory and audit program, OpenAudit, and it is a freeopensource software. It allows scanning the network and store information aboutconfigurations of discovered devices. It also offers a framework to produce reportsabout software licensing, configuration changes, nonauthorized devices and so on.

2. Netsurveyor WiFi scanner: 

With this Netsurveyor WiFi scanner you can know more about your WiFi networks.Among all the features, the site survey features that can report on new access pointsand their locations to head off issues of rogue access points, are the most helpfulones.

3. Advanced IP Scanner: 

Advanced IP Scanner is a handy tool which scans very fast and detects network devices,including WiFi routers. It also scans ports to find HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, RDP and sharedfolders and also allows the user to connect to all computers on the network runningRadmin Server. This scanner is equipped with ping, tracert, telnet, and SSHcommands.

Overlook is a utility which runs on a desktop or a mobile device. It provides visibility todevices which are currently on the network, giving the user a look into IP and MACaddresses, device vendors, and ISP location. The application comes for free butthere's a paid addon service too for a monthly fee. This paid service offers advancedmonitoring and analysis tools which are built on the discovery engine.

5. Spiceworks: 

This tool makes your understanding of the network better by creating interactivenetwork diagrams which offer useful visualizations about bandwidth utilizationspointing to infected nodes.

6. Cheopsng: 

This is another mapping alternative which offers free mapping and monitoring fornetwork discovery. It also offers a visual way to see relationships between nodes.Thissoftware can also probe hosts to see which services they're running.

OpenNMS is a network management application platform. It provides discovery andevent notification about network devices. It can also involve in event management andit manages other events also like SNMP Traps, syslog, or TL/1.

8. NetworkView: 

NetworkView is an affordable way, but not free, to discover network devices. It can berun on a desktop or via a flash drive. It allows discovering TCP/IP nodes and routesusing DNS, SNMP, Ports, NetBIOS and WMI. All the relevant details are provided by itlike MAC addresses and manufacturer names in printable maps and reports.

9. Nmap: 

There are multiple ways to explore resources despite IP filters, firewalls, and routers.Nmap is a goto tool which develops network inventories including managing serviceupgrade schedules, and monitoring host or service uptime.

10. Angry IP Scanner: 

AAngry IP Scanner is a lightweight, simple IP scanner which uses a multithreadedscanning technique for fast scans with results that can be saved to CSV, TXT, XML, orIPPort list files. It offers a flexible Javabased framework and it can be easilyextended through plugins to gather additional information about scanned IPs.
