Aims of the Next Generation Computing (NGC) alliance

• Europe joins its forces in public microelectronic R&D

• CEA-Leti, Fraunhofer/FMD and imec will create a strategic NGC alliance

• Aim to develop computing platforms where technologies for artificial intelligence, high-

performance computing and cybersecurity become indispensable addressing challenges

(e.g. of healthcare, mobility, energy)

• focus on full technology development on 300mm wafers to realize the European

hardware prototypes for the new compute infrastructure

• The new NGC alliance initiative opens up an affordable, fast-track access for SMEs and

systems houses worldwide based in Europe
