Good Friend Toy Sales Help Hunger Organization

The winner of last week’s Mystery Photo contest was Linda Rabel of Gilsum. The band that played on radio station WKNE in the mid-1900s was Happy Valley Neighbors.

check for $24,000 from the proceeds of the 2020 Good Friend sales.

Soft, cuddly, and collectible Good Friend toys were sold at the Savings Bank of Walpole and Feed a Friend Live Broadcasts during November and December for $10 each.

Monadnock Humane Society Food Drive At Hillside Village

Hillside Village Keene and The Prospect-Wood-ward Health Center will be holding a food drive for the Monadnock Hu-mane Society on Tuesday, February 23rd from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. They are looking to collect high-quality food items includ-ing canned and dry food as well as treats. Dona-tions for both dogs and cats are needed.

The Monadnock Hu-mane Society provides food to not only the pets in their shelter, but also to all their foster homes, and have a food pantry for those who are unable to provide food to their own pets.

Hillside Village is lo-cated at 95 Wyman Road in Keene. Folks who would like to make a donation but who cannot get there should contact Joy Peterson at JPeter-son@hsvk.org to make other arrangements.

Grants Available For Organizations Working With Young Children

The Success by Six Committee of the Keene and Elm City Rotary Clubs has grants available for orga-nizations that work with young children, newborn to six years.

At this time, these groups are interested in sup-porting projects by organizations that conduct pro-grams that develop parenting skills for families with young children and/or build school-related skills for young children.

This program is limited to the service area, which includes Keene and the towns listed in the Family Resource Guide at at www.keenerotary.org or www.clubrunner.ca/keeneelmcity. If an organization is interested in applying for a grant, send a letter with details of the request for a specific project or need to: Rotary Club of Keene, Attn: Success By Six, PO Box 126, Keene, NH 03431, or e-mail successbysix.rotary@gmail.com.
