Pakistan, One Year Later

One year ago, torrential monsoon rains unleashed a wave of flooding across Pakistan in what would become the worst natural disaster in the country’s history. Today, flood victims are getting back on their feet with WFP’s help. Meet four individuals whose lives we’ve helped change together.

A Born Leader Meet Andrew. He’s 11 years old and from Ghana, where most people live on about $7 a day. After two failed attempts at raising money to feed children in the Horn of Africa, the donations started coming in. Read his story. Drew Barrymore in Kenya WFP Ambassador Drew Barrymore recently traveled back to Kenya, a country she fell in love with years ago. Drew is dedicated to changing the lives of women and children in the country, and to getting the rest of the world to join her. "A simple, healthy meal in a school is so important. I saw how it changes a girl’s life forever. And right now it is such a crucial safety net for the families during this drought crisis." Read more about Drew’s trip.
