WELCOME TO BHARATIYA VIDYA BHAVANFounded on November 7th, 1938, the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan has grown from small beginnings, into an all India intellectual, cultural and educational movement. True to its goal of revitalization the society with Indian ethos and value systems encompassing Dharma or the Moral Law in its three fold forms of Truth, Love and Beauty.Bhavan is ceaselessly striving to carry forward India’s ageless message of faith, self-discipline and dedication through spread of education with Indian values. It would be instructive to remember that Kulapati Kanhaiyalal Maneklal Munshi, the founder of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, was a practical idealist besides being a lawyer, an author, a constitution maker, a statesman and a social reformer. Above all, he was one who persistently strove for cultural and spiritual regeneration.

The founding of Bhavan was based on the preservation and propagation of Bharatiya Sanskrit (Indian Culture) and Sanskrit, the mother of languages, the akshaya patra- the inexhaustible reservoir. This unpretentious endeavor was backed by Kulapati Munshi’s amazing pragmatism. Over the years from being a modest Indological research institution, it has steadily grown into a comprehensive, co-operative, apolitical, national movement with an international outlook. The main purpose of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is to provide a modern bridge to span the past, the present and the future, built on a strong foundation of the fundamental values of life. To Bhavan, Indian culture is composite and comprehensive and includes the cultures of all religions and communities. It believes in the fusion and synthesis of the basic ideals and tenets of all faiths and an equal respect for all religions.

“Harmony of all faiths.Sarva Dharma Samabhavana.”
