Hy reader, in this book I will show you ways how you can save a considerate amount of money. The total amount you can save per year depends on how many tips and techniques you are actively following.
Now I wouldn't recommend applying them all at the same time for a long duration, a year or so, because it could be very stressful. It would be a lot better if you choose to apply the ones you like the most, but when need to
save more, then just apply some more.
The book itself is pretty simple to follow and if you need more information
about a specific subject mentioned in the book then you can just google it. If you find some errors or have some cool ideas or just feel like you want to say something then feel free to email me at:
BEAUTY 04
Beauty is a chapter that covers savings on beauty products and services
and it includes cheap but effective beauty tips and tricks.
001 Keep it short Shorter hair will get greasy and dirty
slower than hair that is longer, which
makes you wash it less often, costing
you less money on water and soap.001
002 Vaseline makeup
remover Just dip a tissue into a jar and wipe your
face clean with downward motion, it's
really cheap and easy as well.
05
003 Baby shampoo Don't pay premium prices for high end shampoos that are specially
formulated for colored or permed hair. An inexpensive bottle of baby
shampoo will treat your hair just as gently and will also allow the color
or perm to last much longer.001
004 Shave with a straight razor
No need to buy disposable razors at all, for the rest of your life.
005 Alternate between pricey and cheap salons
Get maintenance cuts at a cheap salon in between your pricey salon visits.
BEAUTY 06
006 Make your lipstick
long lasting
To reduce your need for touch-ups, dust a
little powder on a folded facial tissue, then
press it gently between your lips to blot
your lipstick.
007 Take care of your
disposable razor
Shake the excess water off, then dip it in
rubbing alcohol and store it in a dry place,
do not leave it in your shower. This will
clean the blade, stave off rusting, and add
weeks of shaving life.
008 Sharpen your razor
on a matchbox
You can sharpen your razor blades on a
matchbox striker. Push down on the blade
and firmly pull it over the striker, repeat
until sharp.
009 Baking soda for
healthy hair
Your hair will look shinier and bouncier if
you remove all traces of styling products
and conditioner every six weeks or so. Mix
a tablespoon of baking soda with two
tablespoons of white vinegar and work it
into your hair. Rub it in well all along the
hair strands and then rinse thoroughly.
010 Have a spa day
Facials can be a big splurge at upwards of
100$ a visit. By making a homemade mask
out of oats and honey you're being clever,
and saving money. Check out some crafty
at-home ideas online and save up to 600$ a
year.
011 Color your own hair
Save by coloring your own hair at home,
especially if just maintaining your current
color, it's a very easy process.
012 Make your own
hand cream
The most effective ones tend to cost pretty
large amount. Just make your own, olive oil,
which absorbs better into the skin when it's
warm, sea salt and a dash of lemon. More
fun and good recipes can be found online.
013 Waxing habit's
Evaluate your waxing habits, regular waxing
can cost upwards of 1,000$ a year. That
hurts just to think about.
07
014 Get tinted lashes for less
Salon tinted eyelashes provide a natural looking, eye-enhancing
effect. But you can create a similarly glossy, non-clumpy look
without an appointment. Simply use volumizing mascara and a
facial tissue. Take your mascara wand, dip it in the tube, wipe it
on a tissue several times to remove excess product, and then
apply it.
016 Stay away from too much
of a good hair thing
Shampoo, conditioner, gel, mousse, hairspray whatever you're
putting on your hair, you're probably using too much of it. Try
using half of the usual amount of everything you put on your hair,
from shampoo and conditioner to gels and hairspray. You'll prevent
(or slow) product buildup, allowing the products to be more
effective, and you'll make a bottle or tube last twice as long,
cutting the price effectively in half.
015 Cut your own hair
Or let a friend or a spouse do it for you, you can also cut each
others hair, especially good if your friend is a hairdresser.
017 Towel-dry your hair
Towel-dry your hair instead of using a hair dryer, it's better for
your hair and you save on the electricity bill.
BEAUTY 08
018 Do your own facial mask
Pick up a container of plain yogurt at the grocery
store. Mix it with a bit of sugar and apply to your
face like a mask. It will help clear up blemishes,
take away redness and make you feel refreshed.
019 Don't wash your hair
every day
Use shampoo on your hair only every second wash.
Put in a little conditioner on your hair the days
you're not shampooing, and be sure to rinse it out
very well in warm water, so it doesn't start to build
up on the strands. The days that you do shampoo,
use about half the amount. The benefit to this
system is healthier hair and shampoo costs that
are cut in half.
020 Ask for beauty product
samples
If you can get them for free then why spend so
much money on them, it's even good idea to try
out a new products like that, without worries.
09
021 Beauty is an expensive
business
But for a homemade facial, all you actually need is an
over-ripe banana. Mash it up in a bowl then simply
spread it over your face and leave it on for 10
minutes. A banana costs around 0.25$, whereas you
could easily fork out 60$ for a salon treatment with
similar results.
022 Paint your own nails
between pedicures
It's nice to be pampered occasionally. But instead
of spending 20$ to 40$ for a new paint job in a salon
every time your nail polish chips, buy an extra
bottle of the color polish that your salon used
and do the touch-ups yourself. This way you
can stretch out your time between visits to
the salon and still have fabulous nails.
023 Shave with a safety razor
No more of buying those 20$ multi-blade razors all
the time. Safety razor is cheaper and lasts a long time.
024 Remove old nail varnish with a
new coat of polish
Instead of buying nail polish remover, opt for a bottle of clear nail varnish.
Put a thick coat on each nail, one at a time. After applying each coat, wipe
immediately and don't let it dry. You will be very surprised to see just how
effective this money saving method is.
