Lets define the term misuse as follow :

a. the unlawful use of any substancesdefined as a drug;

b. the misuse of alcohol by serving

member; and

c. the misuse of drugs or alcohol by CF

members or civilian DND employees

resulting in deterioration of job

performance.

b. safety of members;

c. health of members;

d. security of defense establishments,

materiel and other public or privateproperty;

CF POLICIES ON DRUG MISUSE

a. the member is authorized touse the drug;

b. the drug is contained in a non-

prescription medication;

c. you are required to use the

drug in the course of your

military duties.

There are three instances where an exception

is made :

The word use means, in respect of

a drug : any act of injecting, swallowing,

inhaling, smoking, ingesting or

otherwise absorbing into the humanbody

Even if drugs are prescribed, misuse

can occur, if :

a. medication is used without a

prescription;

b. medication is used contrary to the

prescription; and

c. prescriptions and / or medicationsare mixed.

could result in release procedures if your

conduct impedes with:

report infringements of orders

and regulations to proper

authorities.

UNIT SUBSTANCE ABUSE

POLICY

- chug a lugs, drinking contests based on the

immoderate drinking of alcoholic beverages are

not allowed;

- service of alcoholic beverages to a member who

is or appear to be inebriated will not bepermitted;

- the standard and care for the serving of

alcoholic beverages will conform with those

established by provincial and municipal laws.
