A CELEBRATIONAND BOOK SIGNING… MEET ELISACONSTANTINI‘ITALIAN MOMS:SPREADING THEIRART TO EVERY TABLE’Elisa Constantini will join usin celebration of history andheritage at The Italian AmericanHeritage Festival at Rose TreePark on June 2, 2019(rain date June 9, 2019).In 1961, at the age of 23, Elisa Costantini left her native Abruzzo inItaly for Philadelphia, bringing with her a slew of family recipes rep-resentative of traditional Italian cuisine. Over 50years later, Costan-tini has compiled her signature dishes in her new self-publishedcookbook, Italian Moms: Spreading Their Art to Every Table.Constantini’s cookbook is a combination of recipes, anecdotalinterludes and pictures of her scrumptious dishes, which range frombreads to sauces to desserts, all found in small-town Italy. Costan-tini’s cooking exhibits the authenticity of her home country and thefamily dynamic it is known for. Her personal collection has turnedinto a resource for Italian Americans whose mothers and grand-mothers might not have had the opportunity to pass down their ownfamily recipes. The cookbook has richness and warmth. Every few pages, her com-mentary partners with a dish, offering a relevant history, the time ofyear it is usually made, or an explanation of what it is.Proceeds from book sales benefit the ministry of St. Francis in
Philadelphia. The cookbook has proven quite successful, and mostimportantly, it has given the Costantini family a shared family proj-ect which reflects upon their history and heritage.‘Italian Moms: Spreading Their Art to Every Table’ is available onAmazon.
A CELEBRATIONAND BOOK SIGNING… MEET CHARLIESACCHETTI‘IT’S ALL GOOD’
Charlie Sacchetti will join usin celebration of history andheritage at The Italian AmericanHeritage Festival at Rose TreePark on June 2, 2019(rain dateJune 9, 2019).Charlie Sacchetti was born in1947and raised in a tightly knit, working class neighborhoodin Southwest Philadelphia. Itwas an environment of strongreligious, family and honor-based values. Here he learned right fromwrong, a strong work ethicand the importance of standing by your word, your family and yourfriends.A lot of people can tell stories but very few can write them in a waythat makes readers feel like they are part of the experience. Such isthe case with IT’S ALL GOOD. The book takes both a nostalgic andmore recent look at the times and events of the author’s life whilefeaturing the actual people who played intricate roles. In this com-pilation of twenty-seven essays, the author relates his experiencesthat span over a period of decades. In many instances, the stories are written in a way that will makebaby boomers rekindle their fond memories, as the stories unfoldin heartwarming detail, while readers of other age groups will feela connection as they compare the stories to similar ones shared byloved ones. With ample amounts of humor and sincerity, the author achieves hisgoal of having the reader relate to the stories on a personal and emo-tional level. In doing this he achieves another goal, that the readerwill also shed a tear of joy or sadness or both...just like he did as thestories came to life.‘IT’S ALL GOOD’ is available on Amazon.

Dear Friends of Our Lady of Angels Regional School,
We are writing to thank you for your generosity in adding Our Lady of Angels Regional School to your list of charities. The fire which has destroyed the older wing of the school building and the water and smoke damage to the newer wing hashad a significant impact on our community at large and especially on the families from the various parishes who send theirchildren to Our Lady of Angels. Despite this tremendous loss there is a wonderful spirit of hope, renewal, rebuilding, and apositive view of the future for Our Lady of Angels School
Your generosity will greatly assist our teachers and students to restore their learning environment and to remain a closeknit faith-filled family of God. The present target date for the rebuilding and restoration of Our Lady of Angels is December2019. We strongly believe that Our Lady of Angels School will rise up again better than ever.
Catholic education is more than academics. It is the working in the spirit of the faith and values of the Gospel whichnurtures our children. We want to keep this intact in these difficult days. Our school motto: “Forming Future Leaders in theFaith” says it all.
We are so very grateful for your generosity. While the fire has been a devastating event, your kind support of ourregional school strengthens our hope and spirit for the coming school year. Please be assured of our prayers for you and pleasecontinue to pray for us.
Sincerely in Christ,
Mrs. Susan LowePrincipal OLA
