Hanging of the Greens
Central’s New
Monarch Butterfly Garden
Dear Friends, thank you for your gener-
ous dollars in the Monarch bucket in the
hallway! Thanks to you we are halfway
to our goal of $100 for the installation of
our Monarch Butterfly garden in the
front of the church. We will keep the
bucket up for another week or two to
give you a chance to help meet our goal
if you haven't put your dollars in! Then
we will put the bucket to rest for the
winter--much like the garden.
In the spring we will see how many of
the 13 Swamp Milkweed and Butterfly
Weed come back after their winter
sleep, and we will add some colorful zin-
nias and other nectar flowers to attract
them to our banquet. Let me know if
you want to be part of that planting
crew. -- Dorothy

ROSES & THORNS
A ROSE: Community Partnership of
the Ozarks would like to give a rose to
Central Christian Church and
recognize them as our volunteer of the
month. Central Christian Church has
provided crucial support for many of
our programs over the years by
opening their doors to host events and
donating time and funds. They have
generously hosted parent involvement
programs, mobile food pantries, town
hall meetings, and more. They are a
pillar to Boyd Elementary and the
surrounding neighborhoods. Thank
you to Central Christian for all of the
support you have provided not only to
Community Partnership but to the
Springfield community.

WE ARE ALMOST DONE We started in January, restoring our sanctuary and completely upgrading our organ and we are
almost done. There is some last minute items to be done on the organ and with our Dedication
this coming Sunday you will hear the beauty of this amazing instrument.
In the past 2 weeks, we have paid Quinby Organ $111,220 due to the expedited rush to get the
organ operational. I am requesting any donations or pledge gifts to assist us in repay-
ing the debt on our renovation/restoration project. We have done a fantastic job up to
this date on paying our debt, however, with the accelerated payments in the past two weeks, do-
nations will assist us in not paying additional interest. Please give this your prayerful thought
and give this Sunday during the Dedication service. Thank You, Greg Walton, Board Chairman
The ministries of Central Christian have continued on the corner of Washington and Di-vision for over 125 years. We have weathered through wars and threats of war, economic de-pression, recession, and yet we continue to be a powerful witness to God’s love through Jesus the Christ. Our wonderful staff leads us in worship, music, youth programs, Sunday school and many outreach programs. Shirley Musser continues a wonderful program of visitation, ex-tending our loving care to those who may be homebound or in a care facility. Our music pro-grams, including a strong chancel choir, hand bell choir, and special instrumental musicians, are inspired by Dr. Mark Bowdidge and Vicky Claborn with their talent and energy. The cho-ral scholarship program continues to add new members to the choir, filling our sanctuary with beautiful music. Our educational ministry has grown under the leadership of Joyce Thomas adding many different programs, including our Worship and Wonder program. Raul Juan Du-ran has maintained our church property, making it a pleasure to attend the many meetings and services held here. Our list of ministries to the community is a long one, as our church contin-ues the work of the Lord, within and outside of our walls.
We remember all that we are, and all that we have, are gifts from God. Please consider your resources and complete an Estimate of Giving card for this coming year. In Mark we read about the Widow’s Offering, where she “put in everything she had.” Stewardship in-volves more than giving of your wealth, it involves bringing yourself into the church and giv-ing of your time and special gifts. In order to maintain the many programs that our congrega-tion supports, to fulfill our mission, time and effort are required as well as offerings. Our board and its chairman, Greg Walton, have managed our budget with extreme care, while the many volunteers at our church manage to keep the programs thriving with love and care. Through our Reach Out and Culture Club programs, we have been able to provide assistance to those in need in our neighborhood. God does live here, and each one of us, must witness to that work. Your monetary support, time, and prayers continue to help make all of this possible.
Your pledge of support is not just a statement of giving, it is a statement of faith. Your pledge follows a long line of those who have come before to make this ministry as significant as it is. Your pledge is an affirmation of God’s love given to you at much cost and the blessings you have received through this love. As Abraham was told by God in Genesis, “you are blessed to be a blessing,” your pledge is a blessing that will continue far beyond its value, be-cause it will be used to share God’s love in this time, in this place as well as in the world.
We hope you will be able to join us for worship on our Consecration Sunday, November
22nd. We will have the Chest of Joash available in the sanctuary, where you can place your Es-timate of Giving card, or simply mail it to the church.
In Christ’s Love for All,
A special thanks to Cal Wise, whose words from the past were used to help craft this letter.
The church is in need of a couple of
manual wheelchairs in good condition. If
you have one you’d like to donate please
give Jim a call in the church office.
Also, we are still in need of 2 or 3
more volunteers for wheelchair service!
Prayer Chain We need some more people for our prayer chain.
If you are interested in being part of that
ministry please call the church office. This is a
wonderful opportunity to serve.
Voluntary Health Info Card The church now has health information
cards that you can fill out if you like.
This is of course voluntary and the cards
will be kept confidential and hidden
away until such time as an emergency
would arise and your card would be
needed. If that should happen we would
then be able to hand your card to the
EMT and they would then have all of the
information needed to give you the best
care possible.
I would like to take this opportunity to
thank you all for your prayers. It is such a
blessing knowing that we have you all in
our lives. Thank you all so very much and
God Bless.
Clio & Lisa Lynch

breakfast casseroles, sausages, and
breads/pasteries for the Evangel Universi-
ty musicians. We also appreciate all the
wonderful help serving and cleaning up
the kitchen. It was a wonderful day in the
life of Central Christian Church!
BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
Breakfast with Santa will be Dec 5
(Set-up Dec 2) and we are greatly in need
of volunteers, inexpensive gifts for men &
women, and gift bags. Cash donations will
also gladly be accepted so that we can buy
what gifts we need.
Please contact Patsy (689-3617) with any
questions or to sign up as a volunteer for
this special event.
GIVING STATEMENTS
If you want up-to-date information for
your 2015 giving, please call the office and
we will print you a copy of your giving
statement.
The end of 2015 is fast approaching and
we know you want to finish up your
pledge/statement of faith positively.

Crosslines News for November
Each year Central and St. John’s Chapel UCC provide milk to the families which visit Crosslines on our
Fish Day each month. For the past several years, Betty Roberts from our congregation has donated
money to cover Central’s share of the cost of the milk which is distributed on our Fish Days. Many
thanks to Betty for this important donation to pay for a food which has such high nutritional value. On
November 10 food was distributed by volunteers from Central and from St. John’s Chapel UCC to 103
CENTRAL SINGLES
The Central Singles group will not be meeting again until January 2016. We have decided that
there are already so many nice Thanksgiving and Christmas events taking place on our
calendars, so there will be no Singles meetings in November or December.
