Hello everybody – another month, another show.

China has become the greatest dominator of frequencies in the spectrum. Part of them are usedby CRI, therefore the complete schedule today. Perhaps more interesting to identify interferingstations than to listen to those often strange languages and voices. Additionally there are thehomeservice as well as some jamming stations known as “firedrakes”.

We use some abbreviations, because space in our print media is rare. Below is the list of mostof them, also used in the English schedules.

Heard China Business Radio/CNR-2, on Oct 31, with "English Evening" at 1305 UTC on all the following frequencies:6065, 6155, 7130, 7245, 7315, 7335, 7375 and also 9820, which was the weakest, but clearly they were all parallel. NoQRM noted on 9820. Most of the frequencies were fair. Have checked since Oct 31 and several times found 9820 parallelto the others, so “English Evening” is fairly regular, at least at my QTH (Ron Howard, Monterey, CA, via DX LISTENING DIGEST)

WESTERN SAHARA. [non]. Listened off and on from about 2030 to close at 2400 UT, trying to identify it on Sunday,November 12, on the new frequency of 7425 (ex 7460). Good reception here with lots of music. Well worth listening to.In Arabic but some Spanish after 2300. Could make out an ID of Radio Nacional de...? [la República Árabe SaharahuiDemocrática] in Spanish at about 2315. Suspected it was Western Sahara and DXLD 6-166 confirmed that it was indeedon the new frequency (Bernie O'Shea, Ottawa, Ontario, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the November edition of the Logbook .

With shortwave stations disappearing from the radio dial it was a welcome change for Radio St.Helena to reappear on its annual broadcast on the weekend of 4/5th November. The broadcast ona out of the band frequency was audible at my post but the audio was swamped by static noisewith occasional RTTY interference.

Welcome to our new contributor Rob Harrington alias n0nni. Thanks also to our other contributorswithout whom this section could not be prepared.
