2 Introduction

Your complete satisfaction with your Acura automobile is our main goal. All personnel at Acura dealerships are thoroughly trained to provide the best service for your vehicle. If you are not satisfied with any maintenance or repair work done by the dealership, follow these three steps:

Step 1 - Talk over your concernswith the dealership's management,such as the service manager orgeneral manager. In most cases, asatisfactory solution is found at this step.

Step 2 - We recognize that, on someoccasions, a client will not be totallysatisfied with a dealer's decision oractions in Step 1. If this is the case,you should call or write to AcuraClient Services. The address andtelephone number are on the inside

front cover of this booklet. Pleaseprovide this information:

• Year, model, and vehicle iden-tification number (VIN) of yourvehicle, and its current mileage

• The name of the dealer who soldyou the vehicle

• The name of the dealer whoservices your vehicle

• Date, mileage, and reason for eachvisit to an Acura dealership

• Any non-Acura dealership repairservice for the problem(s)

• Your daytime and eveningtelephone numbers

BBB AUTO LINE's purpose is toresolve disputes between vehiclemanufacturers and their clients. BBBAUTO LINE's decision makers areimpartial third parties who will listento both the client and themanufacturer and will decide whatcan be done to resolve thedisagreement.

The BBB AUTO LINE's decision is not binding on you unless you agree to accept it. If you accept thedecision, Acura will abide by it.Generally, disputes submitted toBBB AUTO LINE are resolvedwithin 40 days (47 days if you have not first contacted Acura about your complaint).

Acura offers you the opportunity tomediate and arbitrate a disagreementthrough BBB AUTO LINE becausewe want you to feel that you havebeen treated fairly.

Eligibility is limited by yourvehicle's age, mileage, and otherfactors. In order to file a claim, youneed to provide your name andaddress, the vehicle identificationnumber (VIN) of your vehicle, and a brief statement outlining thedisagreement. Initially, BBB may try to resolve the disagreement through mediation. If this is not successful, your complaint will be reviewed by an impartial, volunteer arbitrator. You may present the facts of your case to the arbitrator at an informal meeting.

We encourage you to use thisprogram before, or instead of, goingto court. It is informal, free of chargeto you, and generally resolvesproblems much faster than the courtsystem. Lawyers are usually notinvolved in the resolution of claimsthrough the BBB, although you mayobtain one at your own expense ifyou choose.

If you want to go to court, we do not require you to first file a claim with BBB AUTO LINE. Please note that laws in some states may require that you file a claim with BBB AUTO LINE before you can proceed to a state-operated dispute resolution process or the court system. If you do not accept the decision of BBB AUTO LINE, you can still go to court.

4 Introduction

Lemon LawsMany states have enacted what arecommonly referred to as "LemonLaws." Although the details of theselaws vary from state to state, theirmain purpose is to assure you certainrights if you have problems withyour new vehicle. In general terms,these laws usually say that if yourvehicle has a problem that cannot berepaired in several attempts, or has aseries of problems that keep it out ofservice for an extended period, youmay qualify for relief under theLemon Laws in your state.

Some states require you to notify themanufacturer about the problem(s),and some states give the manufacturer,or its representative, a chance tocorrect the problem(s). A state mayrequire you to submit yourcomplaint to a dispute resolutionprogram, such as BBB AUTO LINE,before proceeding to other forums.

Lemon Laws have many provisions.If you feel your new Acura qualifiesfor consideration under the LemonLaws in your area, we suggest youcheck the laws in your state.

Some Repairs May Be Covered Beyond the Limited Warranty

Acura may cover, on a case-by-casebasis, some or all of the cost torepair a problem that is not coveredby your vehicle's limited warranties.

If your vehicle develops a problemyou feel should be repaired by Acura at no cost, discuss it with your dealer.

If you are not satisfied with yourAcura dealer's decision, call or writeto the Acura Client Services Office(the address and telephone numberare on the inside front cover).

Please provide this informationabout your vehicle: year, model,vehicle identification number (VIN),mileage, maintenance history, adetailed explanation of the problem,and why you think Acura should beresponsible for the repair. Yourrequest will be investigated, and youwill be informed of Acura's decision.

Sometimes Acura offers a specialadjustment program to pay all orpart of the cost of certain repairsbeyond the terms of the warranty.Check with your dealer to determinewhether any adjustment program isapplicable to your motor vehicle.

General Warranty Provisions

The warranty coverages in thisbooklet are offered only to the owner of a 2012 Acura automobile. Tobe covered, the vehicle must bedistributed by American Hondathrough the Acura AutomobileDivision, and sold by an Acuraautomobile dealer in the United States,Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands,Guam, and the Commonwealth of theNorthern Mariana Islands.

Parts replaced under any of thewarranties in this booklet become theproperty of Acura. Acura will makethe final decision whether to repairany existing part or assembly orreplace it.

Acura may use factory-remanufacturedparts rather than new parts for somewarranty repairs. Those parts, likenew parts, are covered for theremainder of the New Vehicle LimitedWarranty (see page 9).

The warranties in this booklet do not cover:

• The failure of any part or accessorydue to:

– Abuse, misuse, accidentaldamage, or acts of nature.

– Improper installation ormaintenance.

– A low fluid level or the use of afluid other than specified by Acura.

– The installation of any part that isnot equal to the original inquality of materials orworkmanship.

– The use of the vehicle incompetition or racing events.

• Any installed part or accessory thatfails because it was not designed tofit that year and model of Acuraautomobile.

• Any vehicle with an odometer thathas been altered so it is impossibleto determine the actual mileage.

• Any vehicle while it is registered ornormally driven outside of theUnited States, Puerto Rico, the U.S.Virgin Islands, Guam, and theCommonwealth of the NorthernMariana Islands.

• Any failure caused by modifyingthe vehicle, or by installingaccessories not authorized byAcura.

• Any incidental expenses orinconvenience incurred due to theloss of use of your vehicle.

• Any vehicle that has ever beendeclared a total loss or sold forsalvage by a financial institution orinsurer, or that has been issued a"salvage" or similar title under anystate's law. This exclusion does notapply to the Emissions Warranties,the Seat Belt Limited Warranty, theReplacement Parts LimitedWarranty, or any recalls or othercampaigns.

Time and Mileage Period

This warranty begins on the date thevehicle is put into use in one of thefollowing ways:

• The vehicle is delivered to the first purchaser by a Acura dealer.

• The vehicle is leased.

• The vehicle is used as ademonstrator or company vehicle.

Your vehicle, including the 12-voltbattery, is covered for 4 years or50,000 miles, whichever comes first.Some parts may have separatecoverage under other warrantiesdescribed in this book.

Warranty Coverage

Acura will repair or replace any partthat is defective in material orworkmanship under normal use. SeeProper Operation on page 33. Allrepairs/replacements made under thiswarranty are free of charge. Thereplaced or repaired parts are

covered only until this New VehicleLimited Warranty expires.

This New Vehicle LimitedWarranty Does Not Cover:

• Normal wear or deterioration ofany part.

• Cleaning and polishing.

• The adding of any fluids, unlessthey are needed as part of awarranty repair.

• Air conditioner refrigerant chargeafter the first year, unless requiredas part of a warranty repair.

• Broken, chipped, or scratchedwindow glass unless it is due to adefect in material orworkmanship.

• Any item concerning yourvehicle's general appearance thatis not due to a defect in materialor workmanship. Cosmetic flawsor minor damage to the body,paint, or other items may occur

during manufacture or shipping of your vehicle. If you find any uncorrected flaws or damage on your new vehicle, notify the dealer as soon as possible after delivery.

• Expendable maintenance items(such as filters, or brake pads/linings) when replaced due tonormal wear or customer abuse.

• Wheel balancing and wheelalignment after 1 year or 12,000miles, unless required as part of awarranty repair.

Limited 6-Month WarrantyCoverage

• Original equipment batteries forkey fobs and remotes are coveredfor the first 6 months ofownership.

• Original equipment wiper bladeinserts are covered for the first 6months of ownership.



Powertrain Limited Warranty


Time and Mileage PeriodThis warranty’s coverage begins onthe same date as the New VehicleLimited Warranty (see page 9).

Your powertrain is covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles, whichevercomes first.

Some powertrain parts may haveadditional coverage under otherwarranties described in this booklet.

Warranty CoverageAcura will repair or replace any part that is defective in material orworkmanship under normal use. See Proper Operation on page 33.All repairs/replacements made underthis warranty are free of charge. The replaced or repaired parts arecovered only until this PowertrainLimited Warranty expires.

Parts Covered by thePowertrain WarrantyYour vehicle may not be equippedwith all of the parts listed. Otherparts may be covered. Contact anauthorized Acura dealer or AcuraClient Services (see inside frontcover) for further information.

EngineCylinder block and head and allinternal parts, timing gears andgaskets, timing chain/belt and cover,flywheel, valve covers, oil pan, oilpump, intake and exhaust manifolds,engine mounts, turbocharger housingand all internal parts, engine/powertrain control module, waterpump, fuel pump, seals, and gaskets.

Transmission and TransaxleCase and all internal parts, torqueconverter, transfer case and allinternal parts, transmission/powertrain control module, seals, and gaskets.

Front-Wheel-Drive SystemFinal drive housing and all internalparts, driveshafts, constant velocityjoints, front hubs and bearings, seals,and gaskets.

Rear-Wheel-Drive SystemDifferential housing and all internalparts, propeller shafts, universaljoints, driveshafts, constant velocityjoints, rear hubs and bearings, seals,and gaskets.

Acura will not deny a claim foremissions warranty coveragebecause you did not generallymaintain the vehicle, or do not havemaintenance records to show thatyou did.


This schedule is designed to keep your vehicle's emissions control systems functioning properly by maintaining your vehicle in peak operating condition.


Federal Emissions Warranties


However, any part that fails as aresult of your abuse, misuse,unapproved modification, use ofimproper parts, or failure to performrequired maintenance affecting thefailed part will not be covered underthis warranty.

Acura recommends that only partssupplied by Acura or equivalentparts be used to repair your vehicle.Maintenance, replacement, orrepair of emissions control devicesand systems may be done by anyautomotive repair establishmentor individual.

Under normal circumstances, Acurawill pay for warranty repairs onlywhen they are performed at anauthorized Acura repair facility. Inan emergency situation, however, therepair of emissions control devices

or systems may be done by anyautomotive repair establishment orindividual, or by the owner, using anequivalent, non-Acura replacementpart. An emergency situation isconsidered to exist if an authorizedAcura repair facility or warrantedpart is not reasonably available tocorrect a problem.

Acura will reimburse you for thoseemergency repairs that are coveredby the Emissions Warranties. Partsreimbursement is at the manu-facturer's suggested retail price, andlabor reimbursement is at ageographically appropriate hourlylabor rate for Acura's recommendedtime allowance. For reimbursement,present the replaced parts and a copyof the paid receipt to any authorizedAcura dealer.

The use of replacement parts notequivalent to the original parts mayimpair the effectiveness of yourvehicle's emissions control systems.If a non-equivalent replacement partis used in the maintenance or repairof your vehicle and if an authorizedAcura dealer determines it isdefective or causes a failure of awarranted part, your claim for repairto bring your vehicle into com-pliance with applicable standardsmay be denied. However, a warrantyclaim will not be denied if a vehiclefails to meet emission standards forreasons unrelated to the use of a non-equivalent replacement part.




These Warranties Do Not Cover:• Failures or malfunctions of the

emissions control systems causedby abuse, alteration, accident,misuse, or the use of leaded ornon-approved gasoline.

• Replacement of maintenanceitems such as, but not limited to,spark plugs, filters, hoses, belts,coolant, or lubricants beyond theirfirst-required maintenance point.

• Consequential damages such asloss of time or use of the vehicle.

Design and Defects Warranty CoverageAcura warrants that your Acuraautomobile:

1. is designed, built, and equipped toconform with all emissionsstandards applicable at the time ofsale,

and

2. is free from defects in materialsand workmanship that wouldcause it to fail to conform withapplicable emissions requirementsduring the specified time andmileage period.

Refer to the emissions parts list in the back of this booklet for more information on warranty duration and the emissions systems that are covered.

To Get Emissions Warranty ServiceRepairs covered by this warrantywill be performed at no charge forparts, labor, and diagnosis.

Within 30 days of the time you take your vehicle to the dealer foremissions warranty service, anauthorized Acura dealer is requiredeither to honor your claim foradjustment, repair, or replacement,or to notify you in writing that your claim is being denied and explain why.

Emissions-Related Design and Defects Warranty





If this time limit is not met, anauthorized Acura dealer will performthe requested repairs free of charge.The only exceptions allowed arewhen you, the owner, request oragree to a delay, or the delay iscaused by circumstances beyond thecontrol of Acura or the dealer.

If an authorized Acura dealer is notable to repair your vehicle within 30days from the time you take it to thedealer, you may have your vehiclerepaired at any repair facility youchoose. The only exceptions allowedare when you, the owner, request oragree to a delay, or the delay iscaused by circumstances beyond thecontrol of Acura or the dealer.

If, due to an Acura dealer's delay (aspreviously described), you choose arepair facility that is not anauthorized Acura dealer, Acura willreimburse you for the repair. Partsreimbursement is at themanufacturer's suggested retail price,and labor reimbursement is at ageographically appropriate hourlyrate for Acura's recommended timeallowance. For reimbursement,present the replaced part(s) and acopy of the paid receipt to anyauthorized Acura dealer.

This warranty begins on the date the vehicle is delivered to the firstpurchaser other than an authorizedAcura dealer, or the date it is firstused as a demonstrator, lease, orcompany vehicle, whichever comes first.

Performance WarrantyCoverageAcura warrants that, if your vehiclefails an EPA-approved emissionsshort test during the designatedwarranty period, Acura will, at nocost to you, make all adjustments,diagnoses, repairs, and replacementsnecessary to bring your vehicle intocompliance with applicableemissions standards.

To Get Emissions PerformanceWarranty ServiceIf your vehicle fails an EPA-approved short test, it should betaken to an authorized Acura dealer,along with proof of the purchasedate and a copy of the test report.

NOTE: The emissions test should beperformed with the vehicle at normaloperating temperature. Beforehaving your vehicle tested, drive thevehicle for several miles at 25 mphor above, and test the vehicle assoon as possible after driving.

Repairs covered by this warrantywill be performed at no charge forparts, labor, and diagnosis.

Within 30 days of the time you take your vehicle to the dealer foremissions warranty service, anauthorized Acura dealer is required to either honor your claim for adjustment, repair, or replacement, or to notify you in writing that your claim is being denied and explain why.

The duration ofthe warranties may vary dependingon vehicle model and location. Your Warranty Rights and ObligationsThe California Air Resources Boardand Acura are pleased to explain theemissions control systems warrantieson your 2012 Acura automobile. InCalifornia, new motor vehicles mustbe designed, built, and equipped tomeet the state's stringent anti-smogstandards. Acura must warrant theemissions control systems on yourvehicle for the periods of timespecified, provided there has been noabuse, neglect, or impropermaintenance of your vehicle.

Your emissions control systems mayinclude parts such as the fuelinjection system, the ignition system,catalytic converter, and enginecomputer. Also included may behoses, belts, connectors, and otheremissions-related assemblies.

Where a warrantable conditionexists, Acura will repair your vehicleat no cost to you, includingdiagnosis, parts, and labor.

Manufacturer's Warranty Coverage For 4 years or 50,000 miles,whichever comes first:

• If your vehicle fails a SmogCheck inspection, all necessaryrepairs and adjustments will bemade by Acura to ensure that yourvehicle passes the inspection. Thisis your emissions control systemsPerformance Warranty.

• If any emissions-related part onyour vehicle is defective, the partwill be repaired or replaced byAcura. This is your short-termemissions control systems DefectsWarranty.





For 7 years or 70,000 miles, orwhichever comes first:

If an emissions-related part in thesupplied list that is specially notedwith coverage for 7 years or 70,000miles is defective, the part will berepaired or replaced by Acura. Thisis your long-term emissions controlsystems Defects Warranty.

Owner's WarrantyResponsibilitiesAs the vehicle owner, you areresponsible for the performance ofthe required maintenance listed inyour owner's manual. Acurarecommends that you retain allreceipts covering maintenance on

your vehicle, but Acura cannot deny warranty solely for the lack of receipts or for your failure to ensure the performance of all scheduled maintenance.

It is your responsibility to bring yourvehicle to an Acura dealer as soon asa problem exists. The warrantyrepairs should be completed in areasonable amount of time, not toexceed 30 days.

As the vehicle owner, you shouldalso be aware that Acura may denywarranty coverage if your vehicle ora part has failed due to abuse,neglect, improper maintenance, orunapproved modifications.

Your ResponsibilitiesTo qualify for coverage under thedefects and performance warranties,you should operate and maintain your2012 Acura automobile according tothe requirements on page 33 of thiswarranty booklet, the maintenanceschedule in the owner's manual,and/or the information provided bythe Maintenance Minder™. This

schedule is designed to keep yourvehicle's emissions control systemsfunctioning properly by maintaining your vehicle in peak operating condition.

Acura will not deny a claim foremissions warranty coverage because you did not generally maintain the vehicle or do not have maintenance records to show that you did. However, any part that fails as a result of your abuse, misuse,unapproved modification, use of non- equivalent parts, or failure to perform required maintenance affecting the failed part will not be covered by this warranty.

Acura recommends that only partssupplied by Acura or equivalent partsbe used to repair your vehicle.Maintenance, replacement, orrepair of emissions control devices

and systems may be done by anyautomotive repair establishment or individual.

Under normal circumstances, Acurawill pay for warranty repairs onlywhen they are performed at anauthorized Acura repair facility. In an emergency situation, however, the repair of emissions control devices or systems may be done by any automotive repair establishment or individual, or by the owner, using an equivalent, non-Acura replacement part.

An emergency situation is considered to exist if an authorized Acura repair facility is not reasonably available, when a warranted part is not available within 30 days, or when anauthorized Acura repair facility isunable to complete a repair within 30 days.






Acura will reimburse you for thoseemergency repairs, includingdiagnosis, that are covered by theEmissions Warranties.

Parts reimbursement is at themanufacturer's suggested retail price,and labor reimbursement is at ageographically appropriate hourlylabor rate for Acura's recommendedtime allowance. For reimbursement,bring the replaced parts and a copyof the paid receipt to any authorizedAcura dealer.

The use of replacement parts notequivalent to the original parts mayimpair the effectiveness of yourvehicle's emissions control systems.If a non-equivalent replacement partwas used in the maintenance orrepair of your vehicle and if anauthorized Acura dealer determinesthe part is defective or causesdamage to a warranted part, yourclaim for repair to bring your vehicleinto compliance with applicablestandards may be denied. However,a warranty claim will not be deniedif a vehicle fails to meet emissionstandards for reasons unrelated tothe use of a non-equivalentreplacement part.

These Warranties Do Not Cover:• Failures or malfunctions of the

emissions control systems causedby abuse, alteration, accident,misuse, or the use of leaded ornon-approved gasoline.

• Replacement of maintenanceitems such as, but not limited to,spark plugs, filters, hoses, belts,coolant, or lubricants beyond theirfirst scheduled maintenance.

• Consequential damages, such asloss of time or use of the vehicle.




Defects Warranty CoverageAcura warrants to the owner of any2012 California Acura model thatthe automobile:

1. is designed, built, and equipped toconform with all emissionsstandards applicable at the time ofsale,

and

2. is free from defects in materialsand workmanship which wouldcause it to fail to conform withapplicable requirements during thespecified time and mileageperiods.

To Get EmissionsWarranty ServiceRepairs covered by this warrantywill be performed at no charge forparts, labor, and diagnosis. Anyauthorized Acura dealer will perform the adjustment, repair, orreplacement within 30 days from the time you take your vehicle to the dealer.

If an authorized Acura dealer isunable to repair your vehicle within30 days from the time you take yourvehicle to the dealer, then thissituation will be treated as anemergency and you may have yourvehicle repaired at any repair facilityyou choose.

If you choose a repair facility that isnot an authorized Acura dealer,Acura will reimburse you for therepair, including diagnosis. Emissions Control Systems Defects Warranty





This warranty begins on the date the vehicle is delivered to the firstpurchaser other than an authorizedAcura dealer, or the date it is firstused as a demonstrator, lease, orcompany vehicle, whichever comes first.

Performance WarrantyCoverageAcura warrants to the owner of any2012 model-year Acura that if yourvehicle fails a Smog Check test (oran EPA-approved short test) duringthe warranty coverage period, Acurawill, at no cost to you, make alladjustments, diagnoses, repairs andreplacements necessary to makeyour vehicle pass the test.

To Get EmissionsWarranty ServiceIf your vehicle fails a Smog Checktest (or an EPA-approved short test),it should be taken to an authorizedAcura dealer, along with a copy ofthe Smog Check test report.

NOTE: The emissions test should beperformed with the vehicle at normaloperating temperature. Beforehaving your vehicle tested, drive thevehicle for several miles at 25 mphor above, and test the vehicle assoon as possible after driving.

Repairs covered by this warrantywill be performed at no charge forparts, labor, and diagnosis.

Within 30 days of the time you take your vehicle to the dealer foremissions warranty service, anauthorized Acura dealer is required either to honor your claim for adjustment, repair, or replacement, or to notify you in writing that your claim is being denied and explain why.







If an authorized Acura dealer is notable to repair your vehicle within 30days from the time you take it to thedealer, you may have your vehiclerepaired at any repair facility youchoose. The only exceptions allowedare when you, the owner, request oragree to a delay, or the delay iscaused by circumstances beyond thecontrol of Acura or the dealer.

If, due to an Acura dealer's delay (aspreviously described), you choose arepair facility that is not anauthorized Acura dealer, Acura willreimburse you for the repair,including diagnosis. Partsreimbursement is at themanufacturer's suggested retail price,and labor reimbursement is at ageographically appropriate hourlylabor rate for Acura's recommendedtime allowance. For reimbursement,present the replaced part(s) and acopy of the paid receipt to anyauthorized Acura dealer.

Seat Belt Limited Warranty

While seat belts cannot completelyremove the possibility of injury, theydo provide a very significant level ofprotection when used properly.Acura believes the best way toenhance your safety is to use yourseat belt. To encourage their use, theseat belts should always be in goodoperating condition.

Time PeriodThis warranty's coverage begins onthe same date as the New VehicleLimited Warranty (see page 9) andcontinues for 15 years or 150,000miles, whichever comes first.

Warranty CoverageAcura, at its option, will repair orreplace any Acura seat beltcomponent that fails to functionproperly during normal use. Thisincludes all parts and labor charges.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:• Replacement of a properly-

functioning seat belt assemblystrictly for cosmetic or comfortreasons.

• Failure caused by abuse,alteration, accidental damage,misuse, or malfunction resultingfrom a collision.

• Components of the SupplementalRestraint System (SRS - frontairbag) that interact with, or actupon, the vehicle's seat belts (suchas, but not limited to, the latchsensor, the belt pretensioners, orthe ECU). Those components arecovered under the New VehicleLimited Warranty.




Rust Perforation Limited Warranty

Only the vehicle’s original owner canmake a claim under this warranty.Coverage cannot be transferred toany other person or institution (suchas an insurance company).

Time and Mileage PeriodThis warranty’s coverage begins onthe same date as the New VehicleLimited Warranty (see page 9), andcontinues for 5 years with nomileage limit. Any body panelsrepaired or replaced under thiswarranty are covered only for thetime remaining in the original 5 years of coverage.

Warranty CoverageAcura will repair or replace anyoriginal body panel that rustscompletely through from the insideout (perforated by corrosion). Thisincludes panels previously repairedor replaced under this warranty.

Rust that does not perforate, but iscaused by a defect in material orworkmanship, is covered under theNew Vehicle Limited Warranty. Youwill not be charged for any parts,material, or labor under thiswarranty. The decision to repair,rather than replace, any rusted bodypanel will be made by Acura.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:• Surface rust on the underbody or

any other part of the vehicleexcept body panels.

• Rusting of body panels that wererepaired, replaced, or refinishedafter retail sale of the vehicle,unless those panels were repairedor replaced under this warranty.

• Body panel rust caused by abuse,misuse, or lack of maintenance.

• Rusting where the paint has beendamaged by road hazards such asstones and debris.

• Rust caused by immersion of thebody panel in water, mud, or sand,or resulting from exposure tocorrosive gas or industrial fallout.

• Paint matching. (Acura reservesthe right to decide how much ofthe repaired or replaced panel, andany adjoining body panels, needto be repainted to match theoriginal finish. Acura will not,under any circumstances,authorize painting the entirevehicle strictly for the purpose ofpaint matching.)




Accessory Limited Warranty

This warranty applies to accessoriesdistributed by American Honda andpurchased from an Acura dealer inthe United States, Puerto Rico, theU.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and theCommonwealth of the NorthernMariana Islands, unless changed byAmerican Honda in writing providedto you prior to your purchase of anaccessory for your 2012 vehicle.

Time and Mileage PeriodAccessories Installed Prior toRetail Sale: This warranty begins onthe same date as the New VehicleLimited Warranty (see page 9). Allaccessories are covered for thelength of the New Vehicle LimitedWarranty: 4 years or 50,000 miles,whichever comes first.

Accessories Installed by an AcuraDealer After Retail Sale: Thiswarranty begins on the date theaccessory is installed on the vehicle.All accessories are covered for thelonger of the following two periods:

1. the time remaining in the NewVehicle Limited Warranty,

or

2. one year.

Accessories Not Installed by anAcura Dealer: This warranty beginson the date the accessory ispurchased from an Acura dealer. Allaccessories are covered for 1 year.

Warranty CoverageAcura will repair or replace anyAcura accessory distributed byAmerican Honda that is defective inmaterial or workmanship undernormal use. Acura will decide if anaccessory will be repaired ratherthan replaced. If the accessory wasinstalled by an Acura dealer, all partsand labor costs are covered. If theaccessory was installed by someoneelse, the cost of all parts to repair orreplace it are covered by Acura, butyou must pay the labor costs.




Accessory Limited Warranty

Audio and Video ComponentExchange ProgramIf the dealer-installed audio and/orvideo component in your Acuradevelops a problem during thiswarranty period, visit your Acuradealer. The service consultant willask you several questions about yourvehicle and the problem. With thisinformation, the proper diagnosiscan be performed to determine ifthere is a problem with the audio orvideo component. If a problem isfound during diagnosis, your Acuradealer will order a replacementcomponent. When your Acura dealerreceives the component (usually inless than a week), you will benotified to bring your vehicle to thedealership so that the audio or videocomponent can be replaced.

Acura may use factory-remanufacturedaudio or video components, ratherthan new components, for somewarranty repairs. Those components,like new components, are coveredfor the remainder of the AccessoryLimited Warranty.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:• Any accessory installed on an

Acura other than the year ormodel it was designed to fit.

• Any accessory that is improperlyinstalled.

• Any claim presented withoutproof of accessory purchaseand/or installation date andvehicle mileage at the time ofinstallation.

• The cost of labor to repair orreplace any accessory that was notoriginally installed by an Acuradealer.




Replacement Parts Limited Warranty

This warranty applies only toautomobile replacement partsdistributed by American Hondathrough the Acura AutomobileDivision, and sold through an Acuradealer in the United States, PuertoRico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam,and the Commonwealth of theNorthern Mariana Islands, unlesschanged by American Honda inwriting provided to you prior to yourpurchase of a replacement part foryour 2012 vehicle.

Time PeriodReplacement parts purchased froman Acura dealer are covered for 1year from the date of purchase,regardless of installation location.

Remanufactured PartsRemanufactured parts purchased froman Acura dealer are covered for 1 yearfrom the date of purchase, regardless of

installation location. Some examples ofremanufactured parts are alternators,starters, brake calipers, powersteering racks and pumps, ABSmodulators, automatic transmissions,and driveshafts. Check with yourdealer to determine if aremanufactured part was used torepair your vehicle.

Warranty CoverageAcura will repair or replace any partcovered by this warranty that isdefective in material orworkmanship under normal use. Ifthe part was originally installed byan Acura dealer, the repair orreplacement will be done with nocharge for parts or labor. If the partwas originally installed by someoneelse, the cost of the replacement orrepair is covered by Acura, but youmust pay all installation costs.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:

• Claims that do not includedocumented proof of purchasedate, and, if installed by an Acuradealer, place of installation.

• Parts considered to be normalmaintenance items, unless they aredefective in material orworkmanship. Some examples arespark plugs, filters, and brakepads.

• Parts replaced under the NewVehicle Limited Warranty or partscovered by other warranties in thisbooklet.




Replacement Battery Limited Warranty

This warranty applies only toreplacement batteries purchasedfrom an Acura dealer in the UnitedStates, Puerto Rico, the U.S. VirginIslands, Guam, and theCommonwealth of the NorthernMariana Islands, unless changed byAmerican Honda in writing provided to you prior to your purchase of a replacement battery for your 2012 vehicle.

Time and Mileage PeriodReplacement batteries are coveredby a 100-month (8 years and 4 months) limited warranty.

Warranty CoverageDuring the first 36 months (3 years) of service, a defectivereplacement battery will be replacedat no cost for the new battery, labor,or installation.

For the remaining 64 months (5 years and 4 months), you receivea credit toward the purchase of thebattery. This credit is based on thethen-current retail price:

• Months 37 to 45: 60 %

• Months 46 to 55: 50 %

• Months 56 to 65: 40 %

• Months 66 to 75: 30 %

• Months 76 to 85: 20 %

• Months 86 to 95: 10 %

• Months 96 to 100: 5 %

The battery is warranted for the timeremaining in the 100 months of theReplacement Battery LimitedWarranty. No cash reimbursementwill be made. You are responsiblefor the labor or installation charges.




Replacement Exhaust Components Lifetime Limited Warranty

Time and Mileage PeriodAcura replacement exhaustcomponents (muffler, A-pipe, and B-pipe) are warranted againstdefects in material and workmanshipfor as long as the exhaustcomponents' purchaser owns thevehicle on which they are installed.

If a warranted exhaust componentfails due to a defect, Acura willexchange it. You must have proof ofpurchase for the failed exhaustcomponent. If the exhaustcomponent was originally installedby an Acura dealer, the cost of laborfor the removal and replacement ofthe component is also covered bythis warranty.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:• The labor cost for the removal and

replacement of the component ifthe defective exhaust componentwas not originally installed by anAcura dealer.

• Other parts of the exhaust system,including gaskets, hangers,clamps, or other mountinghardware.

• The original equipment muffler,A-pipe, and B-pipe or any othermuffler, A-pipe, or B-pipeinstalled while the New VehicleLimited Warranty is in effect.

• The cost of parts or labor for anyadditional repairs associated withreplacing the warranted exhaustcomponents.

This warranty applies to Acuraautomobile replacement exhaustcomponents distributed by AmericanHonda through the AcuraAutomobile Division and soldthrough an Acura automobile dealerin the United States, Puerto Rico, theU.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and theCommonwealth of the NorthernMariana Islands, unless changed byAmerican Honda in writing providedto you prior to your purchase of areplacement exhaust component foryour 2012 vehicle.

Operation and Maintenance of Your Acura

By keeping your Acura in topcondition, you will be rewarded withyears of trouble-free service at thelowest operating cost. The keys tokeeping your Acura in top conditionare proper operation and regularmaintenance.

Proper OperationYour Acura is designed for use as apassenger vehicle. You should use iton designated public roads andhighways. These are some things youshould do to take care of your Acura:

• Avoid exceeding your vehicle'sload limit. This puts excess strainon the engine, brakes, and severalother systems in your vehicle.Refer to the owner's manual tofind the location of the Load Limitlabel on your vehicle.

• Operate your Acura within thelegal speed limit.

• Drive your Acura regularly over adistance of several miles. Like aperson, a vehicle functions betterwith regular exercise.

• Always use an unleaded gasolineof the proper octane number (anti-knock index) and that does nothave any unapproved additives init. See your owner's manual formore information.

MaintenanceYou should check the engine oil and radiator coolant levels each time you fill the gas tank. This protects the vital systems of your Acura, and may help you discover potential problems.

Always maintain your 2012 Acura assuggested by the vehicle'sMaintenance Minder™. The servicessuggested by the MaintenanceMinder™ should never be exceeded;they are essential to trouble-freeoperation. Parts that fail becausethey did not get proper, timelymaintenance are not covered bywarranty. However, a warrantyclaim will not be denied if a partfails due to a defect in material orworkmanship for reasons unrelated to the improper maintenance or operation.

Operation and Maintenance of Your Acura

The people at your Acura dealershipare fully trained and equipped toefficiently perform scheduledmaintenance on your 2012 Acura.However, service at an Acuradealership is not mandatory forcontinued warranty coverage. Youcan have scheduled maintenancedone somewhere other than yourAcura dealer, or you can do themaintenance yourself if you have thetools and skills necessary tocorrectly service your vehicle.

If you regularly take your vehicle toan Acura dealer for scheduledmaintenance, the dealershippersonnel will know its history ifyou need to make a warranty claim.Make sure your service technicianfills out and embosses your AcuraMaintenance Journal. If someoneelse has been performing the

maintenance, you may need toprovide evidence that you haveproperly maintained the vehicle.

This evidence may consist of one ormore of these items:

• The Acura Maintenance Journalshowing the odometer mileageand date for each service. Eachentry in this journal should beembossed and signed by a personwho is qualified to serviceautomobiles.

• Copies of repair orders or otherreceipts that include the odometermileage and date that the vehiclewas serviced. Each receipt shouldbe signed by a qualifiedautomotive service technician.

How to Get Warranty Service

Emergency RepairsAcura recognizes that your vehiclecould develop a serious problemneeding immediate repair at afacility other than an Acura dealer.

Acura will reimburse you for therepair if:

• The repair would normally becovered by one of the warrantiesin this booklet.

and

• All Acura dealers within 50 milesof the breakdown were closed atthe time, or there were no Acuradealers within 50 miles.

Relocating Outside the United StatesAny vehicle purchased from anauthorized Acura dealer in thiscountry is manufactured to meetU.S. government safety andemissions specifications. Othercountries not only have differentAcura models marketed there, butthey also have their own safety and

emissions standards that differ fromU.S. requirements.

If you plan to export your vehicle toanother country and register it there,we recommend that you contact thevehicle import agency in thatcountry to determine therequirements. Acura Client Servicesdoes not have this information.

Be advised that modifications toyour vehicle to meet anothercountry's requirements may be veryexpensive and, in some cases,impossible to perform. Parts tomodify a vehicle to meet foreignspecifications are not available in the United States.

Getting your vehicle serviced inanother country may be difficult,even if you take it to an Acuradealer. Because that country mayhave models with differentequipment and specifications, the

dealer may not have parts that aresuitable for your U.S. vehicle.

Warranty Coverage Outsidethe United StatesThe warranties in this booklet coveronly Acura automobiles purchasedand registered in the United States,Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands,Guam, and the Commonwealth ofthe Northern Mariana Islands. Acuravehicles registered and normallydriven in other countries are notcovered.

Acura dealers outside the U.S. maynot honor these warranties. If youhave your U.S.-specification Acuraserviced by an Acura dealer inanother country (while on vacation,for example), and that service wouldnormally be covered by one of thewarranties in this booklet, pleasecontact American Honda.
