Welcome to the MSO’s Kinderkonzerts

series — where music, magic, storytelling,

and fun come alive on stage! Children young and

old will find these performances educational and

effervescent — perfect for introducing classical

music to the little ones in your life. Join us for these

fun and family-friendly shows, specially designed for

children ages 4 to 10 and their families.

Come early for family fun! Kinderkonzerts begin

at 1:00 pm with an

hour of interactive

pre-concert activities.

Browse the book fair, visit the instrument petting

zoo, meet special guests, and make crafts with our

wonderful community partners! Pre-concert activities

are presented by the MSO League.

Beethoven’s BirdBeethoven was an avid nature lover and often used a walk in the woods for inspiration. This bird is just one

of many nature sounds he used in his Sixth Symphony. With the help of someone older, cut out the bird and and the spiral. Attach one end of a piece of string or

ribbon to the bird, and the other end to backside of “x” on the spiral. Fasten another piece of string or ribbon to the backside of the white dot, hang from the ceiling and

let your imagination soar — just like Beethoven did.

Beethoven: The Revolution BeginsChildren will meet the original music revolutionary — Ludwig van Beethoven — face to face. Milwaukee’s historic Pabst theater will be transformed into Vienna’s theater an der Wien, where Beethoven had many of his pieces premiered and also lived for a time. through excerpts of his great symphonies and theater elements, children will get to know the famed composer.

Jumpin’ Jazz — A Swinging Jungle Tale “Jumpin’ Jazz — A Swinging Jungle Tale” is an entertaining and educational mixture of song and story about the adventures of a 7-year-old girl named Claire and her jungle friends. When Claire’s favorite stuffed animals magically come to life, we meet unforgettable and lovable characters such as elephant’s gerald, Little growl, Hector the Hummingbird, and the Loneliest Monkey. their songs teach us about jungle life from their point of view and the transformative power of music and imagination.

Bach to the Future Featuring the Platypus theatre

“A school project about classical music?!” wails Corky, “What do I know about classical music?” uncle Siegfried to the rescue! But when Corky accidentally combines the ingredients of a magical musical spell, she finds herself on an adventure with some of the world’s most fascinating composers — Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, dvořák, and Shostakovich! Join Corky as she attempts to recreate the musical formula that will bring a happy ending to a time travel experiment gone awry.
