114th Annual General Assembly of
The Church of GodAugust 6 - 11, 2019
Isaiah 40:9
THEME: “...say unto the cities of Judah, Behold Your God!”Welcome to the
114th Annual General Assembly of The Church of God“O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God”
(Isa. 40:9)God is the source of all power and though we see in Scripture that through
time God has given power to His angels, to men and to His only begotten Son, God has not lost one ounce of power! He doesn’t drain out, He does not run low, He is not three quarters full, He is as He always has been—Almighty! He has not relinquished one “iota” of His power.
The demonstration of His glorious power is best seen in what He has done in your life and mine. He has taken the ugliest, weakest, most unwise, filthy, vilest of sinners out of a horrible pit and the miry clay to clean him with the powerful and mighty and precious blood of the Holy Lamb of God—Jesus Christ His Son—and made us to sit in heavenly places with the princes of His people.
There is no God beside our God whose Word is very pure, whose judgments are upright, whose testimonies are righteous, and who is perfect in all His ways. Our God is holy!
Holy is what best describes God, but it is not merely an attribute of God, holy is the way God is. He is entirely sacred, completely different and set apart from this world—pure, no sin, no blemish, no fault, free from defilement, no unclean or profane thing is found in Him. Our God is perfect and holy!
We cannot afford to forget who God is or what kind of God He is. We cannot afford to lose our high concept of God because in doing so we eventually will lose our concept of His majesty and holiness, and we will forget how He is to be worshipped and that He is to be obeyed.
We welcome all delegates from all around the world to 114th General Assembly of The Church of God. We are gathered here at this time because it is the will of God for us to do so, and we gather with a sense of anticipation that God will do great and wonderful things among us. Thank you for turning aside from your daily labors and cares and coming to gather in this place. We want to be slow to speak in the presence of God, but swift to hear whatever He wishes to speak to us. I believe the place whereupon we stand is holy ground.
Our prayer is that every heart will delight in the presence and blessings of our Lord and Saviour in every session. Let us pray that God’s perfect will might prevail in all things in this year’s General Assembly.

HIS WAY WITH THEEWould you live for Jesus and be always pure and good?
Would you walk with Him within the narrow road?Would you have Him bear your burden, carry all your load?
Let Him have His way with thee
His power can make you what you ought to beHis blood can cleanse your heart and make you free
His love can fill your soul, and you will see’Twas best for Him to have His way with thee
Would you have Him make you free and follow at His call?Would you know the peace that comes by giving all?
Would you have Him save you so that you can never fall?Let Him have His way with thee
Would you in His kingdom find a place of constant rest?Would you prove Him true in providential test?
Would you in His service labor always at your best?Let Him have His way with thee.
LEANING ON THE EVERLASTING ARMSWhat a fellowship, what a joy divine
Leaning on the everlasting armsWhat a blessedness, what a peace is mine
Leaning on the everlasting arms
Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarmsLeaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms
O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim wayLeaning on the everlasting arms
O how bright the path grows from day to dayLeaning on the everlasting arms
What have I to dread, what have I to fearLeaning on the everlasting arms
I have blessed peace with my Lord so nearLeaning on the everlasting arms

HOW GREAT IS OUR GODThe splendor of a king, clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice, all the earth rejoiceHe wraps Himself in light, and darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice, trembles at His voice
How great is our God, sing with meHow great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God
Age to age He stands, and time is in His handsBeginning and the end, beginning and the end
The Godhead Three in One—Father, Spirit, SonThe Lion and the Lamb, the Lion and the Lamb
Name above all names, worthy of all praiseMy heart will sing, how great is our God

HE KEEPS ME SINGINGThere’s within my heart a melody; Jesus whispers sweet and low
“Fear not, I am with you, peace, be still,” in all of life’s ebb and flow
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, sweetest name I knowFills my every longing, keeps me singing as I go
All my life was wrecked by sin and strife, discord filled my heart with painJesus swept across the broken strings, stirred the slumbering chords again
Though sometimes He leads through waters deep, trials fall across the wayThough sometimes the path seems rough and steep
see His footprints all the way
Feasting on the riches of His grace, resting ‘neath His sheltering wingAlways looking on His smiling face, that is why I shout and sing
Soon He’s coming back to welcome me, far beyond the starry skyI shall wing my flight to worlds unknown, I shall reign with Him on high
20
IT IS WELL WITH MY SOULWhen peace like a river attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows rollWhatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say
It is well, it is well, with my soul
It is well, with my soulIt is well, it is well, with my soul
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should comeLet this blest assurance control
That Christ has regarded my helpless estateAnd hath shed His own blood for my soul
My sin—oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole
Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no morePraise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sightThe clouds be rolled back as a scroll
The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descendEven so, it is well with my soul
I WOULD NOT BE DENIEDWhen pangs of death seized on my soul, unto the Lord I cried
Till Jesus came and made me whole, I would not be denied
I would not be denied, I would not be deniedTill Jesus came and made me whole, I would not be denied
As Jacob in the days of old, I wrestled with the LordAnd instant with a courage bold, I stood upon His Word
Old Satan said my Lord was gone and would not hear my prayerBut praise the Lord! The work is done and Christ the Lord is here

THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT THAT NAMEJesus, Jesus, Jesus; there’s just something about that name
Master, Savior, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rainJesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all heaven and earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away, but there’s something about that name

LILY OF THE VALLEYI’ve found a friend in Jesus, He’s everything to me
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soulThe Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully wholeIn sorrow He’s my comfort, in trouble He’s my stay
He tells me every care on Him to rollHe’s the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul
He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borneIn temptation He’s my strong and mighty tow’rI’ve all for Him forsaken and all my idols torn
From my heart and now He keeps me by His pow’rThough all the world forsake me and Satan tempt me sore
Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goalHe’s the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul
He’ll never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me hereWhile I live by faith and do His blessed will
A wall of fire about me, I’ve nothing now to fearFrom His manna He my hungry soul shall fill
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed faceWhere rivers of delight shall ever roll
He’s the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning StarHe’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul

WHEN THE ROLL IS CALLED UP YONDERWhen the trumpet of the Lord shall sound and time shall be no more
And the morning breaks eternal bright and fairWhen the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore
And the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there
When the roll is called up yonderWhen the roll is called up yonderWhen the roll is called up yonder
When the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there
On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall riseAnd the glory of His resurrection share
When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skiesAnd the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there
Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sunLet us talk of all His wondrous love and care
Then when all of life is over and our work on earth is doneAnd the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there
A GLORIOUS CHURCH Do you hear them coming, brother, thronging up the steeps of light? Clad in glorious shining garments, blood-washed garments pure and white
’Tis a glorious Church without spot or wrinkleWashed in the blood of the Lamb
’Tis a glorious Church without spot or wrinkleWashed in the blood of the Lamb
Do you hear the stirring anthems, filling all the earth and sky?’Tis a grand victorious army, lift its banner up on high!
Never fear the clouds of sorrow, never fear the storms of sinWe shall triumph on the morrow, even now our joys begin
Wave the banner, shout His praises, for our victory is nigh! We shall join our conquering Saviour, we shall reign with Him on high!

HOW GREAT THOU ART O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have madeI see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to TheeHow great Thou art, How great Thou art
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to TheeHow great Thou art, How great Thou art!
And when I think, that God, His Son not sparingSent Him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearingHe bled and died to take away my sin
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heartThen I shall bow, in humble adoration
And then proclaim: “My God, how great Thou art!”

AT CALVARYYears I spent in vanity and pride, Caring not my Lord was crucified
Knowing not it was for me He died on Calvary
Mercy there was great and grace was free Pardon there was multiplied to me
There my burdened soul found liberty at Calvary
By God’s Word at last my sin I learnedThen I trembled at the law I’d spurned
Till my guilty soul imploring turned to Calvary
Now I’ve given to Jesus everything, now I gladly own Him as my King Now my raptured soul can only sing of Calvary!
Oh, the love that drew salvation’s plan! Oh, the grace that brought it down to man!
Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span at Calvary!24
COME UNTO MEHear the blessed Savior calling the oppressed
Oh, ye heavy laden, come to Me and restCome, no longer tarry, I your load will bear
Bring Me every burden, bring Me every care
Come unto Me, I will give you restTake My yoke upon you, hear Me and be blest I am meek and lowly, come and trust My might Come, My yoke is easy, and My burden’s light
Are you disappointed, wand’ring here and there Dragging chains of doubt and loaded down with care?
Do unholy feelings struggle in your breast? Bring your case to Jesus—He will give you rest
Stumbling on the mountains dark with sin and shame Stumbling toward the pit of hell’s consuming flame
By the pow’r of sin deluded and oppressedHear the tender Shepherd, Come to Me and rest
Have you by temptation often conquered been Has a sense of weakness brought distress within? Christ will sanctify you, if you’ll claim His best
In the Holy Spirit, He will give you rest
NOTHING BUT THE BLOODWhat can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Oh! Precious is the flow, that makes me white as snowNo other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus
For my pardon this I see, nothing but the blood of JesusFor my cleansing this my plea, nothing but the blood of Jesus
Nothing can for sin atone, nothing but the blood of JesusNaught of good that I have done, nothing but the blood of Jesus
This is all my hope and peace, nothing but the blood of JesusThis is all my righteousness, nothing but the blood of Jesus

AT THE BATTLE’S FRONT
I’ve enlisted for life in the army of the LordThough the fight may be long and the struggle fierce and hard
With the armor of God and the Spirit’s trusty swordAt the front of the battle you will find me
Hear the tramp! tramp! tramping of the armyThe triumph shouting, the foe we’re routing
Hear the tramp! tramp! tramping of the armyMarching on to victory
I’m in this army, this glorious armyAnd the God of battles will defend meI’m in this army, this glorious army
At the front of the battle you will find me
With the banner of love and of holiness unfurledFull salvation proclaim to a sinful, dying world
Tho’ the darts thick and fast from the enemy be hurledAt the front of the battle you will find me.
Is your name, friend, enrolled with the loyal ones and true? Will you dare now to stand with the Saviour’s faithful few?
Will you join with me now and the covenant renew? At the front of the battle you will find me

God’s Holy Word.I will make it a lamp unto my feet

That I might not sin against God.
