Tinkergarten offers outdoor, play-based education classes for kids 18 months to 8 years old and atreasured adult. Both kids and adults learn and grow together in the best classroom of all: nature!

Nature is the most inspiring, challenging,stimulating and refreshing classroom we could imagine.Leaders are coaches—guiding the kids and the adults tosupport their explorer's play.

SKILLS THAI MAUEHOur curriculum is designed to help children buiid a foundation inthe skills that matter most—creativity, curiosity, persistence andgrit, empathy, problem solving and collaboration. These skills helpchildren develop into self-driven individuals who are capable, well-rounded, curious, and collaborative. It is at these early ages thatchildren build the foundation for those elegant skills. WithTinkergarten your child becomes ready to learn, ready to thriveand ready for anything.

WELEARNATUNKERGARUNPA^NISBefore class, leadersprepare adults for what theywill observe, or what theirchild will experience (ifanother adult is present).During class, leaders shareinsights with adults as theyobserve the children, andgive strategies on how-tosupport the play.After class, parents receivean email with photos of theclass and an explanationabout what the children did,why it's developmentallyImportant, and what you cando as a family to build onthe experience.

KIDSAt Tinkergarten, parents and leaders actively observe childrenat play. Season after season, you'll learn how to spot evidenceof their development and how to open their worlds to evenmore learning. Here is one example of how they will learn atTinkergarten:

Behavioral SchemaEver notice that your kids love to fill bags, buckets and othercontainers with stuff? The act of gathering and moving objectsis a powerful developmental tool that children ages 1.5 to 6years old do worldwide. It's called "transporting," and it's one

of a series of universal patterns called "behavioral schema"that, when encouraged will help engage kids in an activity forlonger and support brain and body development morethoroughly. Many Tinkergarten activities are designed totrigger these patterns when they are developmentally and ageappropriate for kids. Our leaders help parents understand andutilize these patterns when they play with their own children.
