After School Club has had a big revamp this term thanks to Mrs Langan. Numbers have
grown significantly over the years, and Mrs Langan is now leader of the club and has a
whole bunch of ideas and games to keep the children entertained between 4 and 6pm.
A mixture of board games, puzzles, and activities await the children in the IT suite before heading down to the dining room
for tea. The older children also have time to complete any homework they’ve been assigned before playing any games or
starting an activity.
This week, Mrs Langan and co have been making spoon people! Using lots of googly eyes, pom poms and glue the
children have made some weird, wacky and wonderful designs. Next week, the children are creating a hand print
collage to decorate their new club room.
After school club runs from 4pm to 6pm every weekday, with tea provided for children staying past 5pm. Please give at
least 24 hours notice if you wish for your child to be in the club for the afternoon. Contact the School Office to book.
Please note: now that the club takes place in the IT suite, parents must collect their children from the front door of the
Manor House. Please ring the doorbell for attention.
Early Years Newsletter Monday 11th September
Welcome to the first Early Years newsletter of the new Academic Year.
The children have all started very positively and we have loved hearing all about their Summer Holidays.
We have had a few new starters too and they have all settled in really well.
By now you should have received the different classes’ termly forecasts which give you details of what we aim to learn this term.
If you haven’t received yours, please see your class teacher. As always, our door is open if you have any queries or concerns so please
let us know if there is anything we can help you with.
Little Adventurers This half term we will be learning ‘All about Me’ and what our bodies can do. We will be exploring movement through dance, action games
and PE activities. We will also look at hobbies and explore our senses. Treasure bags: Please complete the All about Me sheet; some may
have done one before but you may be able to do things now that you couldn’t before and we would love to know about it! The children will
share their ‘All about Me’ with their friends at circle time.
Great Explorers This half term Great Explorers will be learning about “Magical Me”, learning about what we look like, how we are different, who is in our family, and what our homes are like. We are also taking some time to
get to know our new friends and showing them what happens in school.
Treasure Bags: Please can you send in a picture (either photograph or drawing) of your child and their family.
Reception – Show and Tell Please bring in a baby photo of yourself please so that we can discuss
changing and growing.
