The workshop started off with a prayer session and a welcome Speech was lent by Mrs

Trupti Mohanty, Coordinator, East Zone Hemophilia Women Group. Mrs Mohanty briefed

about the importance of women group and how it was formed.

Mrs Gurmeet Khanna, national coordinator Hemophilia Women group stressed upon the

meeting etiquettes.

A self introduction and interaction programme among participants was then held with

respect to their relation to PWHs.

Mrs Baby Shaw , Asstt Coordinator, East Zone Hemophilia Women Group presented PPT

on “Role of a mother in the world of Hemophilia”

Inauguration: The workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guest Ms Sushma Sahu, Hon’ble

Member, National Women Commission, New Delhi and Dr Shobha Rani, Mrs Gurmeet

Khanna, Mrs Trupti Mohanty by lighting of lamp.

On this occasion Mrs Gurmeet Khanna spoke about the need and formation of women

group. She explained how Ms Cheryl helped us to make the women group in India. She

also focused on women empowerment and self confidence.

Dr Shobha Rani presented survey of Patna Hemophilia women Group report and informed

that there are more cases of domestic violence and divorce. She spoke about the

importance of carrier detection. She also spoke on management of hemophilia in society,

along with the solutions to gynaec problem of carriers. She demonstrated self infusion

technique as well. She also conveyed that those husbands who are giving divorce to

hemophilic mother are stigma on the society.

Chief Guest Ms Sushma Sahu, Hon’ble Member, National Women Commission, Govt of

India stressed upon the below mentioned points :-

1. Every organisation should work for women empowerment.

2. Every organisation should not allow divorcee (divorced hemophiliac mother) male

to work or hold post in same organisation, as it may hampered development of

organisation and working of women group particularly in organisation working on

genetic disease.

3. Every organisation should form legal advice (literacy) department to give

information about various law, which are in favour of women.

4. Every organisation should form socio – psycho counselling section.

5. Every organisation should work for financial independence of women through skill

development , self help group etc.

6. She will try to provide all help from National Women Commission for funding for

seminars / survey on hemophilia.

Dr Prachi Pragya spoke on dental care and management of Hemophilia. She conveyed that to

stop dental bleeding PWH may use Warfin Chips , Transmenic acid etc.

She also said that RCT should be avoided by PWH and 2 times bushing for 5 minutes is must.

There was a general interaction session which had a great impact on everyone. Everybody shared their feelings and emotions which was a very interesting session.Day 1 ended with a meditation session taught by Mrs. Gurmeet Khanna and an entertainment session among the participants.

Day 2

Day 2 started with explanation of meeting etiquettes by Mrs. Gurmeet Khanna.

A socio – psychology counselling was conducted by Mrs Kumari Radha Socio –

psychologist/ counsellor in Govt hospital (Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Science,

Patna). She spoke about the moral strength of women. She also interacted with the

participants.

Mrs Gunjeeta Gupta, Advocate informed about Legal rights of women. Which is as under

Mrs. Trupti Mohanty gave away information about the sewing machine project.

Vote of thanks was given by Mrs Archana Sinha. Mrs Sinha thanks all 37 participants and informed that 2 were participated from New Delhi, 8 were participated from Orissa , W. Bengal, Jharkhand. From Bihar 27 women (16 mothers, 2 wives, 2 sister and 7 others) were participated.
