What is an Excess? It is that sum of money which you have to bear towards the cost of your claim for damage to

your vehicle. This is a stated amount usually expressed as a percentage of the sum insured of

the vehicle.

What are the next steps after I have reported the accident? If you are a comprehensive policyholder, please provide us with the name and contact

information of your repairer. Thereafter we will appoint an assessor to inspect and report on

the damage to your vehicle and then either authorize the repairs of your vehicle or make a

cash settlement if the vehicle is repairable.

If you are covered under a Third Party policy and not at fault in the accident, please obtain an estimate of repairs and submit to us for review and processing.

If I am not at fault why do I have to claim from my policy? You do not have to claim from your policy. However claiming from the other party may result

in delays, especially if the other party reports that they are not at fault.

How long will it take to get my settlement? The timeframe varies depending on the nature of the claim however for a simple damage

claim the turnaround time is usually within 15 business days of the receipt of required

documents.

Will settling from my policy affect my premium? Yes it will if you are deemed to be at fault or if we have not recovered the monies paid to you

For further information please contact our offices at 922-1260.
