Fees

Fees are specified in the Australian Citizenship Regulations 2007.Concession fee for Australian citizenship by conferral

A concession fee is payable by people in receipt of certainCentrelink and Department of Veterans Affairs payments.

Centrelink

If you have a Centrelink Pensioner Concession card (PCC) withthe relevant payment code listed below, this is generally sufficientevidence of eligibility for a fee concession.

1. If you are aged between 18 and 59 and are required to sit acitizenship test and hold:

a PCC with one of the following codes:AGE, AGB, CAR, DSB, DSP, NS, PA, PPP, SA, SL, WA, WFA,WFD

or WID; or a Health Care card (HCC) with the code SL and provide

evidence that you have received the SL benefit for46 of the last 52 weeks; or

a HCC with the code PA, and evidence that you are thepartner of a person who:

holds a PCC with one of the following codes:AGE, AGB, CAR, DSB, DSP, WFA, WFD or WID; or

holds a HCC with the code SL and has received theSL benefit for at least 46 of the last 52 weeks.

2. PCC holders with the code PPS aged 60 and over who havebeen in receipt of PPS payment for 9 months or more.

3. If you are not required to sit a citizenship test and hold:

a PCC with one of the following codes:AGE, AGB, CAR, DSB, DSP, NS, PA, PPP, SA, SL, WA, WFA,WFD or WID; or

a Health care card (HCC) with the code SL and provideevidence that you have received the SL benefit for 46of the last 52 weeks; or

a HCC with the code PA, and evidence that you are thepartner of a person who:

holds a PCC with one of the following codes:AGE, AGB, CAR, DSB, DSP, WFA, WFD or WID; or

holds a HCC with the code SL and has received theSL benefit for at least 46 of the last 52 weeks.

Department of Veterans AffairsHolders of a Pensioner Concession Card for Age Service, InvalidityService, Income Support Supplement or Partner Service. TheConcession Card is generally sufficient evidence of eligibility for afee concession.

* Fee exemptions for Australian citizenship by conferral

No fee is payable by British and Maltese former child migrantswho came to Australia between 22 September 1947 and31 December 1967 under the Commonwealth Child MigrationScheme OR persons who have served for 90 days in thepermanent forces of the Commonwealth of Australia.

All fees are listed in Australian dollars (AUD) and correct attime of release.

To make a payment, please pay by credit card, debit card, bankcheque or money order made payable to the Department ofImmigration and Citizenship. Debit card and credit card arethe preferred methods of payment.

Outside AustraliaBefore making a payment outside Australia, please checkwith the Australian Government office where you intend tolodge your application as to what methods of payment andcurrencies they can accept and to whom the payment shouldbe made payable.
