Dear Resident CITYLINK TULLA WIDENING: BELL STREET TO PASCOE VALE ROAD BRIDGE AND REGION – MAJOR CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES IN JANUARY We are writing to residents to provide information on the major construction activities happening on Pascoe Vale Road and works associated with the Bell Street to Pascoe Vale Road bridge that will be taking place throughout January 2017. The map (overleaf) provides a general update on the works that will be carried out in the coming weeks in regard to the CityLink bridge over Pascoe Vale Road, the new Bell Street to Pascoe Vale Road bridge and other works in this section of the project. There are significant works — including major concrete pours on both bridges — before the end of the month. There are also freeway and ramp closures required for these works to proceed and a majority of the works can only be completed at night for the safety of workers and to mitigate the impact on drivers using the freeway. Noise levels associated with this work are expected to be minimal however, residents might experience noise from the concrete pumps operating and truck movements and there might be a small amount of general construction noise. The main impact on residents is likely to come from the numerous lighting towers that will be operating across the site to make sure the work area is well-lit for the safety of workers. These lights will be directed towards to work area but will likely be visible to some residents. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience our construction activities might cause. We are committed to keeping residents informed while keeping the community and our workers safe at all times. CITYLINK TULLA WIDENING: BELL STREET TO PASCOE VALE ROAD BRIDGE AND REGION – MAJOR CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES IN JANUARY

We are writing to residents to provide information on the major construction activities happening on Pascoe Vale Road and works associated with the Bell Street to Pascoe Vale Road bridge that will be taking place throughout January 2017.

The map (overleaf) provides a general update on the works that will be carried out in the coming weeks in regard tothe CityLink bridge over Pascoe Vale Road, the new Bell Street to Pascoe Vale Road bridge and otherworks in this section of the project.

There are significant works — including major concrete pours on both bridges — before the end of the month. Thereare also freeway and ramp closures required for these works to proceed and a majority of the works can only be completed at night for the safety of workers and to mitigate the impact on drivers using the freeway.

Noise levels associated with this work are expected to be minimal however, residents might experience noise from the concrete pumps operating and truck movements and there might be a small amount of general construction noise.

The main impact on residents is likely to come from the numerous lighting towers that will be operating across thesite to make sure the work area is well-lit for the safety of workers.

These lights will be directed towards to work area but will likely be visible to some residents. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience our construction activities might cause.

We are committed to keeping residents informed while keeping the community and our workers safe at all times.

Yours sincerely,Community Relations TeamCPB ContractorsCityLink Tulla Widening: Bulla Road to Power Street

During this period there will be major concrete ‘pours’ for both the bridge over Pascoe Vale Road (1) and the new Bell Street to Pascoe Vale Road bridge (3, 4). We are also continuing work on the new retaining wall for the Pascoe Vale Road outbound exit ramp (2). There will be significant works on and below the CityLink bridge over Pascoe Vale Road throughout the remainder of January and into February including ongoing night-shifts from 16 January.During this period there will be a crane operating from Pascoe Vale Road to lift and place the new safety barriers (known as parapets)) that will be installed at the edge of the bridge. The same work will be taking place on the new Bell Street to Pascoe Vale Road bridge. In addition to this general notification – separate notifications* addressing specific work activities and their impacts will be distributed to affected residents when and as required. With all works, you may notice temporary traffic management set-up in the area and crews of construction personnel at work. The concrete deck pours will involve some large pump machinery and numerous truck movements. What is ‘general construction noise?Across the project, the general construction noise that might be experienced can include the sounds made by excavators, jack hammers, trucks and other site vehicles in use.We understand that these works can be disruptive so we are doing our best to complete these works as safely and efficiently as possible. We thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we complete these important works. If you have any questions or feedback about these works please phone 1300 783 947 and select 1 or email us at
