13 Colonies Webquest
Ms. Maneck US History
Welcome! The English Crown Needs Your Help!
Your expertise is needed immediately! The Royal Family has commissioned you (a leading PR director) to design a poster that advertises the new British Colonies in America. Your job is to research a colonial region and design a poster to entice the British population to move across the pond.
Are you up for it??? Ok! Let’s go!
Task #1
• Task 1: Research. You will use the links on the Simeon website
to help you find information on your colony. You will be required to read and research using the questions on your question sheet to find the best information possible.
• Step 1: Go to http://www.simeonca.org and choose the homework/classes section on the right hand side
• Step 2: Find Ms. Maneck’s classes in the SOCIAL STUDIES DEPARTMENT
• Step 3: Click on your class period • Step 4: Under homework from Oct. 22-25 you will find the
webquest. Begin there!
Task #2
• Task 2: When you have finished researching, take the information you have from your questions and summarize it on to your fast fact sheet.
Task #3
• Task 3: You and TWO OTHER people from the SAME colonies (southern, middle or northern) will join together to create the perfect poster advertising your colonies. You will work together using your fast fact sheet information and creativity to entice as many people as you can to move!
• You will have just under three days to do this work. So please stay on task and be mindful of the time!
• This project is worth a test grade of 50 points!!!
