    Job Title: Sr. or Sr. Staff Drilling Engineer

    Location: Houston, TX

    Summary:

    The Sr. Drilling Engineer will be responsible for the operation of rigs and working on the engineering and

    planning for the wells to be drilled in Rosetta Resources plays. The successful candidate should have a proven

    track record in drilling engineering, effective well planning and project management. The Drilling Engineer

    has the responsibility for ensuring that costs are minimized while getting information to evaluate the

    formations penetrated, protecting the health and safety of workers and other personnel, and protecting the

    environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Prepare cost estimates, well plans, procedures, and cost tracking for the Rosettas drilling projectsand benchmark results

    Evaluate technology and applications to gain efficiency in drilling operations Evaluate bids and secure services in support of drilling operations Interface with on-site supervisors and monitor daily drilling operations Interface with asset teams to develop timelines in order to maintain efficient drilling operations Communicate operations issues with asset teams and other Company departments Benchmark capital spending and cost efficiency in all aspects of drilling operations Evaluate drilling techniques and provide recommendations as necessary Operate in compliance with all EH&S and regulatory guidelines Negotiate and approve invoice settlements with service providers Coordinate drilling contracts Mentor to less experienced engineers

    Additional duties as assigned

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering 5 15 years of drilling engineering experience, directly related to well design, planning and

    execution

    Onshore drilling, pad drilling and horizontal drilling experience is desired Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and interpersonal skills (a team player) Knowledge of well reporting (i.e. Landmark and OpenWells) and drilling engineering software Well-developed project management skills Strong planning and organizational skills Travel to field sites as needed
