On Thursday 31 August, 19 students from Years 4 and 5 were lucky enough to go to Everton Park SHS to participate in their MADD day. They joined other students from Stafford Heights State School, Somerset Hills State School, Everton Park State School and Newmarket State School. MADD stands for Music, Art and Dangerous Drama. For Arts, we had the opportunity to decorate a toilet brush with diamonds, tape, stickers, fabric, and lots more.

We also made Origami Cranes. In Music, we participated in playing Super Mario on the Launchpad and we got to play Bish Bosh Bash on the bucket drums. For Drama, we played games and did a performance with someone reading a poem in the background. Two poems were about a storm and one was about a war. Both were amazing! Baillee, Hayden, Ta Hay Thaw, Su and Tyrelle ( 5A). Thanks to students and staff at Everton Park SHS for making this day possible! Mrs Jeffs said we were the best behaved group she had ever taken on an excursion. Well done! Stafford Students.

“ Who Dunnit?” STEM Day – 12 September On Tuesday 12 September, Mrs Lewis and Stafford SS Year 5s joined other local primary school students at Everton Park SHS to participate in a Forensic Science STEM Day led by their Year 11 and 12 Senior Science Ambassadors. With the threat of laughing gas being released as the scenario, the students worked through activities including blood typing, fingerprinting, handwriting analysis, soil testing and robotics to narrow down the suspect pool from 5 to the likely culprit. Using the evidence available and their tests, students were able to identify Mr Turner, the EPSHS school principal, as the culprit though a process of elimination. A big congratulations to our Year 5 students for their excellent engagement and behaviour on the day and for EPSHS students for their leadership of the activities.
