The Immigration Reform and Control

Act of 1986

The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) re-quired employers to verify that all newly hired employees pres-ent facially valid documen-tation verifying the employees identity and legal authorization to accept employment in the United States.

Verification Within three days of hiring a new employee, the employer must complete an Employment Eligibility Verifica-tion Form, commonly referred to as an I-9 form. This requires examining acceptable forms of

the employees documentation to confirm his or her citizenship or eligibility to work in the Unit-ed States.

Foreign citizens come to the United States to find a better life. As long as we employ people who wish to work but who dont have a legal right to do so, our borders will be porous. If work were not available, there would be no incentive for citizens of other countries to risk life and limb to enter a country where there is no opportunity to make a living. ed.

While I share Reince's frustration with the media, as a liberal, I'd like to go on record and state that the media isn't focusing on issues I care about. They seem to be far more focused on entertainment and making money.

Things 1 - 3.1. Where the jobs went.

Outsourcing (or offshoring) is a bigger con-tributor to unemployment in the U.S. than la-ziness.

Since 2000, U.S. multinationals have cut 2.9 million jobs here while increasing employ-ment overseas by 2.4 million. This is likely just the tip of the iceberg as multinational cor-porations account for only about 20% of the labor force.

2. Upward wealth redistribution and/or inequality.

In 2010, 20% of the people held approximately 88% of

the net worth in the U.S. the top 1% alone held 35% of all net worth. the bottom 80% of people held only 12% of net

worth. In 1983, the bottom 80% held 18% of net worth.

These statistics are not Democrat or Republican. They are widely available to reporters. Why aren't they discussed in the "liberal" media?3. ALEC.

If there was a corporate organization that drafted laws and then passed them on to legislators to implement, wouldn't you think the "liberal" media would report on them?The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is such an organization. Need legislation drafted? No need to go through a lobbyist to reach state legislatures anymore. Just contact ALEC. Among other things, ALEC is responsible for:

health care companies Tobacco industry legislation

Many legislators dont even change the proposals handed to them by this group of corporations. They simply take the corporate bills and bring them to the legislative floor.This is the primary reason for so much similar bad legislation in different states.

Do You Need To Update? Requests expire after four years, and if you didnt request one in the last four years, you must update your request. The easiest way to do that is to phone the Super-visor of Elections office at 561-656-6200 and ask to update. It takes only three minutes! You only need your name and birthdate (You dont have to fill out any forms.. ###

Voter Information CardOn the right is a sample Voter Information Card. Do You Know Your Current Voting Location? The most important information on the card is your polling place (if you choose not to vote in your pajamas). Voting locations (polling places) may change every ten years after a census when redistricting occurs. Do You Know Florida Will Be Redistricted Again in 2016? Because of illegal redistricting by the legislature after the 2010 census, a current

lawsuit is requiring a more fair (and constitutional) apportionment of districts. That means that your polling place (red box) could very well be different by August or November 2016. See page 4 to find out how to stay informed. ###
